Fantastic pool venue. Loads of tables all in fabulous condition. Lots of free parking. Also food was well priced. One small bugbear though If you get a cup of tea it tastes a bit like coffee as the hot water comes from the coffee machine. But I'm nit picking.

After bad attitude from a member of staff and thier boyfriend. Starring at me and my family. When my son was refuned to be served on his 18th birthday. And addressing to the staff that they need to be more respectful. Been twice since and now I'm banded. Apparently to them I've tried to buy an under aged girl a drink. Which has never happened. And today a member of staff was trying to intimidate my father. When he was having a nice calm conversation with the manager. The staff seem to think they can treat people like crap and bare them for it. 1. A braught myself a drink. Never once did I buy anyone else a drink 2 when I have a member of staff and thier boy friend trying to cause a problem with me and my family. And I address the situation calmly. I'm now band. For standing up for me and my family. And doing it again today with my father. No on......

Superb venue for pool, snooker, darts and more. Reasonably priced game rates and decent prices on the beverages. Highly recommend the Towers for a good day or night.

World class 8 ball tables, 9 ball very good, snooker tables standard club level. 3 stars due to lack of male toilets and only 1 cubicle in a club this size excluding the disabled isnt enough.

A wodefull place for a wedding reception. Could do with the transition to carpark smoothing out as its not a good 1st impression. #autocarriages

(Completely re-written because of upgrades to this venue). My first visit to The Towers was about a year ago - shortly after their refurbishment of the pool and snooker tables. At that time they hadn't done the American tables, and I marked them down to three stars accordingly. This time, things are different. Firstly, the venue caters to both the casual sports user and also the professional cueist. There are several tables and disciplines to cover all your regular cue sports. The front area is for your casual/family based clients. It sports two American tables, three English tables, a Shuffle Board and a Table Tennis table. (The Shuffle Board looks like a lot of fun). Further back are more English tables and snooker tables. There is also a brace of premium snooker tables in a seperate room. Because the American tables have been recently re-clothed, they are performing much better than last time I visited. However, the cloth is heavy duty, and heavy to play on and is RED. At the moment, while it is fairly new (even though it's already worn) it is playing quite well, but the rails are only so-so. If you play normal shots off the rail, they're ok. Play something with some oomph, and they don't work well at all. In short; for your average Saturday night out with the boys, it's perfect, but for someone who actually knows what they're doing, it is quite lacking in performance. Now I've bashed the American tables, let's have a go at the English tables. These are split into two areas: the front (family) area and the area further back where the professional tables are. I happen to know from experience that those tables further back are beautifully maintained and play exceptionally well. Can't comment on the tables at the front other than they are PURPLE. To me that that's the same as red American tables, but I didn't actually play on those purple tables....talking of which (and I really wasn't expecting this), you can play on the purple tables, and if they're not up to your standard for whatever reason, you can change to another table that is. And you may be thinking "So what?" Well, you can also swap to other sports within the venue (snooker, Shuffle Board, table tennis) and your bill will not exceed £27.20 You could accrue the whole £27.20 on one sport and then move to another, and it won't cost you any extra - even if you stay there all day. There are cue clubs for the snooker, I believe, and also for the English pool. Table fees are £9.50/hour and day membership is £3. Annual membership can be had for only £15, and this gives 10% off tables prices AND the £27.20 So, to recap; The front area is casual oriented and has the bright coloured tables, the Shuffle Board, table tennis and darts. The area further back has the quieter, more serious atmosphere including the premium tables for the quieter, more serious player. At first I was having a little trouble getting to grips with the red pool table (the colour is really off-putting), but by the end I'd got used it and was thoroughly enjoying it, and didn't want to leave. All in all it was a really positive experience - so much so, that I took the annual membership because I will be back.
