Istanbul Kitchen & Bar

I have been here several times for food. They are consistent with good food quality both in flavour and quantity for a reasonable price. Very friendly staff. I love the Istanbul special for 2 people. We had ate most of the starter prior to taking the photo. Always end up with a takeout box as we can never finish it.

Nice Turkish food, been to a few different Turkish places in the past and this lives up to the hype. I like the sujuk sausage, the mixed grill is great you get to try most of everything. Service was good. Will be coming back. There’s a car park pay and display right next to it, wasn’t expensive.

Food was yummy! Barnsley was a pit stop on our way back to London from Leeds. Found this restaurant open late, and the food was really good (Veg & Non-veg). Full of flavour, nice and fresh & staff were great too!

My friend and I passed through Barnsley and happened to stumble upon this hidden gem. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we entered. Keep it up guys. I ordered Lamb beyti and he ordered chef’s special - humus and the drink effes. The food was 10 out of 10 it really took me back to the istanbul streets where beyti and izgara smoke in the air feel you up. I loved the inside of the restaurant. The playlist was great. Volume not too loud, not too quite. Staff very responsive and attentive. The only thing that caught my attention that i think is room for improvement was the bathroom basin which was positioned in a very awkward place right where the door was. It was uncomfortable to get in and out where someone is washing their hands. All in all, i have been to many Turkish restaurants in the country and worldwide, this defo is in the top best. For months I've been smelling charcoal around Barnsley Town centre and finally today my nose led me to Istanbul Kitchen & Bar. As I entered, the smell reinforced my desire for some Turkish food and I was certainly in for a treat. I ordered the Istanbul Special for 2 and the Spicy salad but before these arrived, I was presented with some lovely warm bread, Tzatziki and a pot of Aubergine, Onion and Tomato dip. Delicious! Now the main... What arrived can only be described as a ship full of delicious meat. Chunks of Chicken, Lamb, Kofte, Lamb Chops, Sujuk (Turkish Beef Sausage), Chips, Feta Rolls, Rice, Potatoes, Halloumi and Salad. It was just divine. Delicious meats cooked over charcoal for that added taste. I was very full but more importantly... Satisfied. The portion size is more than adequate for two people. I will most definitely be coming here again. What a Gem!
