Wow. What an amazing stay we had. Wickerley was the perfect family rental, lovely big bedrooms with views across the fields to the water, proper bathrooms with showers and baths, it was really clean throughout and a well appointed kitchen was great for getting together over meals and beautiful big gardens. They even had a warm pool, and woodland walks, both of which the kids loved. The team were super welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I’m so pleased we got to stay at this wonderful family home and can’t recommend it enough - can’t wait to go back. Thank you to Will and his family for a really special stay.

I stayed at Wickersley House and couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I walked in, it felt like a boutique hotel meets home-away-from-home. The modern décor and fresh renovation really stand out; the bathrooms are especially striking. Key highlights: •Superfast, reliable WiFi, ideal whether you’re working or streaming. •Fully equipped kitchen + stylish living spaces, great for families or groups wanting comfort and flexibility. •Private parking on site, plus a quiet, convenient street location with easy access to transport links. •The host’s attention to detail, fresh linens, smart-lock check-in, and excellent cleanliness elevated the whole stay. If you’re seeking a comfortable, stylish place for business or family stays, do yourself a favour and book Wickersley House. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.

Recently stayed and Wickersley House on the 26th Sept upon arrival everything seemed lovely good communication with Gill and the grounds are kept very well and the pool area is clean. However once you enter the property and look beneath the surfaces it’s a very different story. In all rooms there was some form of bugs that have not been removed in all corners of every room. There was a couch that was sellotaped across the back, under bed side tables was dust that has not been cleaned for a very long time. The sauna does not heat up, the back door does not lock, the rug in the living has tears in it and is hid by a sofa and the dirt on it is disgusting. All the wood work is filthy, it looks like the house is cleaned where the eye can see it however it should be deep cleaned after every use. There was a sign that says try to flush in 10 mins if it does not flush properly. Windowsills are rotted and wood coming away in living room from damp. In the little sitting room next to the kitchen the couch cushions are all flat and desperately worn. House is in need of a lot of tlc. If you expect basic cleanliness when going away for the weekend this house is not for you

We were unfortunate and had to cancel our stay at Wickersley House. Whilst I cannot comment on the house I can on William’s communication. He was extremely helpful in providing us with the information to allow us to book for my elderly parents and very understanding when we had to cancel due to my mother being very unwell. She remains in hospital but I am hopeful that when she is well we will come visit William and Gill and stay in this lovely house.

On arrival to this house , the grounds are stunning and the house is grand, which is a shame as you walk through the doors to a very disappointing , tired , dirty , cold house. My bedroom had cobwebs in every corner with spiders in them,I know it’s a very old building but I don’t expect to be sharing a room with a family of spiders. Walls were damp in the bedroom also with brown patches on the wall. The toilet has a framed sign to say that it doesn’t flush and to go try again in 5 mins I mean wouldn’t it be easier to get the system fixed 🤷‍♀️ than frame a sign. The sauna is a waste of space as it doesn’t heat up at all The house has not been cleaned in a very long time and it shows the carpet in the living areas barely had a thread left on it and the sofas are not comfortable as they are made up with various filling materials to hide the fact the sofas are damaged and dated. The fire alarm went off at 5am with no way of turning this off leading to a very early wake up call for the whole family , overall a disappointing stay and such a shame as the house does have lots of character and history but it is not maintained , cleaned or kept up to , do not go here if your expecting luxury and scared of bugs in your bed I will most definitely not be returning nor would I recommend this house to friends or family , such a shame that it’s been left to rot

Recently stayed at the property. From the outside it looked amazing but Overall experience was not what I expected. The house was dirty, there was dead bugs on beds and in the rooms. The bedding also felt damp. There was dust in all the rooms and it just looked unkept. One of the toilets had a note about flushing the toilet and having to leave it 10 minutes and then go back later, I don’t understand for the price to stay there you would just not get it fixed. Some of the showers had limescale and mould in them and felt uncomfortable to get clean in them. It is not worth the price at all and the owners tried to make up false allegations against us to try keep our deposit which as very upsetting and I have spoken to others that have had the same issues with deposits too. Very disappointed

We’ve recently stayed at Wickersley and had our wedding there. It was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. Everyone who came to the house had a wonderful experience with use of this incredible house and gardens. Will and Gill were fantastic at accommodating all of our needs. The house was spectacular inside and out. Couldn’t recommend this property any higher.
