Desi Sweet Centre

Now i live in Derby, but I used to live in Gravesend and this was always one of my favourite places to eat. My go-to order was bhindi with methi, mooli parantha, and it was always absolutely delicious. Recently, I had the chance to visit again and of course I ordered the same meal. It tasted just as amazing as I remembered! Highly recommended for anyone looking for proper, homely Indian food.

Today i have ordered paneer pakoda. But the paneer was missing in paneer pakoda. The quality isn't good and over fried. So i wana let you know please don't order paneer pakoda from here.

Horrible quality of Indian sweets. The items were stale, overly sweet, and honestly not eatable. They lacked freshness, the texture was dry, and the flavours were completely off. It felt like they had been sitting around for far too long. Very disappointing — I strongly advise others to avoid purchasing from here.

Wonderful shop run by a wonderful family. Very nice man showed us the best sweets for after our dinner and had some amazingly tasty authentic curry. The jalabes were absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through 🙂

I don't know why this shop got so many negative comments . I came from Maidstone almost drive 36 miles to taste their samosa. I bought some sweets, jalebi and samosa. All I can say is fresh , crispy and authentic taste. I'm a srilankan but I like this unique taste . So many varieties of sweets you can enjoy. The lady was nice and less waiting time. You can buy small quantity as well as bigger whatever you prefer . I'll recommend this place to anyone who craving for authentic indian sweets and savoury snacks. I'll definitely come back . Cons: Only thing I bother was parking .You have to park nearby road as there's no allocated parking.

Bought 1kg of mixed mithai for £16.50. Would only really go there again if I had no choice. Not saying the mithai is bad just the price hence only 4 stars.

I thought of trying some savouries and sweet from the shop and decided to buy them yesterday. Well, the photos tell you the story of why I have given 1-star. Unfortunately there is no option of giving negative rating or a 0 star. How can they even get a hygiene certificate? Less than 24-hours and the sweet has mold!!! To be honest I feel sick just looking at it and threw everything. What a waste of over £20. Should have gone with my instinct after reading all these previous comments but sometimes you just want to try and hope you are not one of those experiences which leaves bad taste in your mouth. I am sure it wont bother the owner as they might already have loyal customers but they are definitely not making me one. Best of luck whoever decides to buy eatables from there, just be extra careful what you buy and eat.
