Quorn Grange Hotel

Starting with the good! Nice, quiet but useful location for Loughborough and Leicester. Also cheap. The couple of staff members I spoke to were also very pleasant and helpful. However, the rooms are a long way short of what you could reasonably expect from a hotel in 2026. The plumbing is just so bad, with the distinct smell of raw sewage coming up into the sink and toilet. Mattresses so old that I needed to grab the duvet from the other bed in my twin room to act as a topper. TV - no remote in the room, and didn't work anyway due to weak signal. Decent wifi is a saving grace though. It has potential, but it clearly needs a fortune spending on it to bring it up to a decent standard.

Just had my 70th Birthday Party here in the Oak Panel Room. It was very well organised by Becky, Seamus and all the catering team. Nothing was too much trouble and all questions delt with very quickly. The party dinner food was hot and generous portions. Bedrooms clean and comfortable. Everyone in the hotel worked as a team all very young with a good work attitude. Thank you made our weekend.

For when I stayed, it was not accessible. As a wheelchair user, prior notice that the lift was out of order and would remain out of order the entire stay would have been helpful. Luckily I had someone with me to help or I’d have been stranded in the reception area, not being able to access the training rooms or restaurant. The food was good, the rooms were really nice too. Accessible ish and comfortable. Accessing the room would have been great from the car park (French doors opening out) other than a lip on the bottom of the door that my chair wouldn’t manage. If someone is visiting using a chair and they are alone, this maybe a struggle. Disappointing as everything else was great.

Possibly the dirtiest hotel I've stayed at. Stained floors, dirty cups in the room, wall paper peeling off, the hallways smelt like a care home and dead flies everywhere. The receptionists tried to help with fans as the heated towel rail would not turn off (in this heat!). There was a wedding going on so incredibly noisy. Apparently only two rooms were not part of the wedding yet we were overlooking the gardens and above the function room. Kids knocking on the doors and running away. Again receptionist was good and said she'd speak to the wedding party and it stopped. Doors are thin so you hear everything. No idea how they say its a fire door with a huge gap at the bottom. I can't get my head around the good reviews on here. I should have checked TripAdvisor first which shows the true state of this run down dirty hotel.

Went for a conference and stayed the night. Evening meal and breakfast was very nice. Small TV in room but didn't work due to "bad weather". Free WiFi worked well. Staff were friendly and helpful. Reasonable prices for drinks (£6-£7 a pint) in the 24hr bar.
