Summat to Ate Steak Restaurant & Function Rooms

Absolutely sensational. Can’t believe I’ve not been for so long and it’s on my doorstep. Had a steak and onion pie that was phenomenal. Tomato and chilli soup that was also phenomenal. The deserts were to die and got a massive bowl full of crumble and custard. Grandma loved her salmon and the wife and daughter were made up with there fillet steaks. None of could fault it at all. Best food I’ve eaten in a long time. Compliments to the chef 👏

Been many times travel to visit as love food, arrived today 16/8/26 15mins early for 3pm booking place pretty then, gent told us where our table was right up against brick pillar but very cramped because table next to us overflowed I did grumble said don’t want to sit there have u got something else was told no all tables booked for 3pm (lie) I did say let’s go but I knew my partner loved the Sunday lunch so sat down I did say if tables not used I wouldn’t be happy, more than one of the tables stayed empty the whole time we were there 1 hour said this to lad when he wasn’t happy said complain then and there was nothing wrong with that table he’d got his back up as soon as I didn’t want to sit at worst table in place and I’m disabled on stick too cramped and staff going past our table had to walk sideways and their aprons still rubbed on our table rest of staff were lovely especially the American waiter nothing is ever too much trouble for him very, but hhis chap had attitude so considering it was a birthday treat very disappointing

We visited last Sunday on the way through to an overnight stay 30 minutes away from the restaurant, it was a must for us as we had seen some amazing reviews online for this place. With the restaurant sadly 3.5 hours from home we knew we had to try it and we were not disappointed!! My roast was nothing short of amazing, I added cauliflower cheese and WOW. The dessert was incredible, staff even kindly put a candle in it for my birthday. The roast was the nicest, tastiest roast I’ve ever had including the Cauliflower cheese. Everything was faultless, it had so much flavour and value for money on the Sunday lunch menu is brilliant. If we’re ever out this way again then we will absolutely be visiting again in a heart beat. The only thing which was disappointing is the fact you’re so far away from home.

Great place to eat and good steak. Nice selection of food and the staff are friendly and helpful. Best to book a table in advance as can get busy and it is a little expensive, but they do have a specials menu which is good and has a nice selection of meals to choose from. Definitely recommend a visit.

Impromptu Christmas lunch with my best friend. The entire vibe was chilled and relaxed. Everywhere was spotless. The food was probably the best Christmas lunch I've had in many a year. Service was impeccable. Only got a picture of the pudding as everything else was devoured!
