Loved our stay this weekend at The Jug and Bottle. The staff are amazing and super friendly. We had our baby with us and they were so lovely and helpful. The breakfasts were amazing. We are yet to try their dinner as we were here for a friend's wedding. Parking is easy and the area is wonderful.
Lovely one night stay while visiting Heswall for family occasion. Good sized room with comfortable bed and well-appponted ensuite. Excellent breakfast and so nice to have table service and choice of newspapers first thing in the morning. Would definitely stay again and would aim to have dinner as well next time.
Have to say the Jug and Bottle looks great and the atmosphere was bouncing with everyone chatting and having a laugh. Out of the four of three of the meals were fine, but the burger left a lot to be desired. Onion rings were greasy, my chips were like warm and looked like they'd been stood on? The burger was tough, dry and over cooked with no sauce or relish on the burger either. I decided not to complain because everyone else seemed to enjoy theirs. So wouldn't order the burger again if I went back
Beautiful pub - clean and a great environment, it was bustling from early in the evening and into the night which is a really good sign. The staff were wonderful, you weren’t waiting long to be served at the bar either, as they were really efficient. The food was absolutely incredible at reasonable prices - we had the chorizo and focaccia starter and there was so much flavour, the bread was also so fresh and warm. Then we had classic steak burgers as the main, they were juicy and I can’t express how good they tasted - the chips, slaw and onion rings were also top notch. Great portions, great flavour and you just couldn’t beat it. Would definitely come back here!
We visited as a party of nine for Sunday lunch and generally were very happy with the service and food. We received a friendly and warm reception and given that there was another large party just ahead of us the service was acceptable in timing and delivery. One member required gluten free options and it was pleasing to find that available options were more than offered on the online menu choices when allergy needs were applied. That said it was felt that more options could readily be devised from present menus. One criticism was the state of the roast potatoes!! How does a chef offer and present such solid items? Whilst the meat of the lamb Henry fell off the bone, the roast potatoes were virtually impossible to cut with the cutlery on offer. It’s such a shame.
