The Forth Ceilidh Band

We booked The Forth Ceilidh Band for our wedding in July, and had a blast! Most of our guests were from out of town and had never been to a Ceilidh before. David and his team were great, carefully explaining instructions and demonstrations to teach people the dances. The music was great, the calling was great, and the selection of dances was perfect for a mostly-beginner crowd. David was so helpful and responsive in the leadup to the wedding, with very quick email responses. The band lent us their sound music and microphones for our first dance song which was so helpful! David even took a video of my husband and I doing "Strip the Willow" with all our friends and family which is such a fun memory to have now.

My son and daughter-in-law had a wonderful wedding at Forrester Park Resort last week. It was made even more special by the excellent service from the Forth Ceilidh Band. The correspondence with David Purvis from start to finish was very professional but relaxed and made me feel we could totally trust him. All had a wonderful time and our Canadian and English visitors especially loved the Ceilidh. Would highly recommend this band to anyone having a traditional Scottish wedding.

We booked the Forth Ceilidh Band for a recent anniversary celebration based on reviews and testimonials we had read, and we were not disappointed! From the beginning and leading up to the event, communication from David was prompt and helpful with no question unanswered. On the night, the ceilidh was fantastic and everyone there commented on the super quality of the band. As caller, David was very clear and incredibly patient and the music contained a good variety of styles, speed and melodies to keep everyone entertained. We would certainly hire the band again for future events and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a fun, entertaining ceilidh at their party or celebration.

We hired Forth Ceilidh Band as a 3 piece for our wedding day having had the band play as a 2 piece a few years previously at my birthday party. David was so helpful leading up to the day as we fired emails back and forth with all our questions. On the day, the band were absolutely incredible, all our guests got involved in the ceilidh and we danced the night away. We are so grateful to David and the band for being part of our wedding day. Highly recommend them for any form of celebration.

David and his band played for a family 60th party and we're excellent. They were punctual, responsive to our requests and played excellent music. I'd definitely recommend them.

We hired David and his crew for our wedding in Crail in September 2025...and we're so glad we did! Half the crowd was American and had no clue what a ceilidh dance was, the other half was Scottish and were great teachers! The mix of modern and traditional was welcomed by David. It's so important to be specific in your wishes. People will meet you where you are! Thank you again to David for making our day - especially Loch Lomond - incredible!
