Inspiring DJs

I attended the Level 1 and following Level 2 courses starting as someone with no prioprior experience. I learnt all the basics from how to use the controller and rekordbox functions, to beat and bpm matching and effects in level 1 as well as foundational information about djaying such as different types and music genres! The level 2 course followed on nicely by teaching us how to create our own library of music to import into rekordbox and make playlists, to using the rest of the performance pad functions and stems to further our mixing and transitions. Tendai is a great teacher who is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about her craft! She is keen for active and hands on participation of students, patient and flexible to adapt the sessions to cover topics that we were interested in or struggling with in extra depth. Her friendly and welcoming demeanour quickly makes you feel comfortable in her classes. I really enjoyed the courses and I can't wait for level 3!

We loved our lessons with Tendai! She was super flexible, accommodating and keen to ensure we got everything we wanted from our sessions. She gave us great confidence and the skills to perform a set at our wedding - and I would highly recommend to anyone else thinking about learning!

I recently completed a 5-week introductory DJ course with Tendai, also known as DJ Petite Deejay. She is an approachable and thorough teacher who covered the fundamentals of DJing, introduced us to the equipment, and gave all 10 participants genuine hands-on time with the controller. She balanced explaining, demonstrating, and giving each of us the opportunity to practise, and was always open to questions from individuals or the group. Tendai also walked us through different techniques and setup options, and took time to understand each participant's goals — whether DJing for friends, community events, parties, or as a potential side income. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a supportive and knowledgeable introduction to DJing!

I had the pleasure of completing a beginners 5 week DJ course last year and it was great. Tendai is a great teacher, patient and has a nice energy about her. I would certainly recommend her as a DJ teacher. Thank you!

Love love love love LOVED working with Inspiring DJs - from the offset, the standard of service was on point, giving us confidence and excitement with what we were booking. We had Inspiring DJs partner with us to deliver a number of workshops for a community project and it was an ideal choice. The sessions were thorough, inspiring and exceeded our expectations. We particularly value working with Tendai and couldn't recommend her or the team more highly.
