White Hart

The staff are friendly, the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom lacked in little luxuries that I have found in many bed and breakfasts and hotels, such as shampoo and shower gel, the handwash was almost empty, no hairdryer and plugs out of reach and not many of them. The food was very good. We were not warned that a DJ was on from 9 until past 2am with excessively loud house type music which vibrated the room, we had a toddler with us and were unaware of this when booked. Very disappointed as we were all very tired for our day ahead!

Great experience at a lovely local pub. All the young staff are attentive and conscientious, working as a team, which was lovely to see. The tall barman who served me had exceptional customer service skills and knowledge of the products he was selling - I think his name was Oscar. Keep up the good work all!

Came here for lunch before going to Newmarket races. Everywhere was busy as you would expect on a race day so why was there only two members of staff behind the bar? we were waiting some time before getting served and didn't help when regular customers were repeatedly served before others waiting. We ordered food from our table and after an hour food still hadn't come out other people in the bar had food out late and some of it was not hot so we decided to cancel. Ther is a positive here neeve if I have spelt her name correctly was so busy but nothing was too much trouble and cancelled the order with a refund. We told her it wasn't her fault and felt bad asking her she was so polite and very hardworking a real star Another positive the shuttle bus for Newmarket was outside the pub as for visiting again think we will give it a miss such a shame

Lovely setting, staff are very friendly and helpful, the service was great and I didn't run into any issues while having my stay here. Rooms were clean when I got to mine, alongside the service of being allocated one very simple and easy. Staff helped greatly with order choices due to an allergy I have which simplified the process for me and let me know what I could have.

I have been coming to the White Hart for about a year and a half and I like to consider myself a local. It is a fantastic hotel/pub. The staff are always friendly and you can have a laugh, especially Niamh (Credit on the Guinness art too!). The service is good, food is good. Atmosphere is nice and having a car park is great. They have an event room which have regular functions. They have a great pool table and dart boards. There is something for everyone here. Perfect pub for me!

Absolutely brilliant experience at the White Hart on Newmarket High Street. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in, with friendly staff (especially Niamh) who couldn’t do enough for us. The drinks selection was fantastic too with plenty to choose from. Perfect location in the centre of town and overall just a really enjoyable visit.

Do not stay here if you actually want to sleep! Booked this for two nights as a friend had a wedding locally, we were told upon arrival that the pub beneath would be open until 1am and could get lively - but as we were on the second floor it shouldn’t be too bad. It was horrendous, so loud! A nightclub where we could feel the base through the floor of our hotel. After staying the first night we asked for a refund for the second night as there was no way we could do another night of that. The manager was very unhelpful told me that they couldnt refund us for the Second night and that we had been told it would be loud. On top of this - the rooms were very very shabby, the bathroom had a lot of mold around the bath edge. Do not stay here.
