Sophie Barloc Wedding Photography

If I could give 6 stars, I would! Sophie was the perfect photographer for our wedding. My photos bring me so much joy, every picture is absolutely stunning. She did such a good job of capturing *our* specific vibe, and the photos radiate all the happiness and love from the day. I really recommend her analogue photography: our point and shoot pictures are amazing! Really authentic, simultaneously well composed and in-the-moment. She did a really good job making a slightly alternative Location look really beautiful and understood the vision that I had for the day in general. On top of everything she is calm, cool and friendly, and managed to ensure we got all the photos we needed within the time we had. I would recommend her to anyone, for weddings but also anything else that requires beautiful and dynamic photos. 6 STARS

We consider ourselves so lucky to have found Sophie for our "untraditional" celebration of our civil partnership. We had a very clear vision of what we wanted and knew we definitely didn't want your run of the mill wedding photographer. We wanted natural yet cinematic shots that captured the character of our neighbourhood as much as it did our guests. Sophie was very generous with time and ideas, she took the time to meet with us on multiple occasions and was eager to bring our dream day to life. When it came to the big day, she arrived promptly and was quick to start shooting, she was a joy to work with - equally kind with direction but also discreet enough not to disrupt any of the days proceedings. When it came to receiving the final photos, Sophie exceeded our expectations. It took us ages to select our favourites for print as we had so many wonderful shots to pic from. We couldn't have been happier. If you are looking for a wedding photographer who has a unique cinematic style, keen eye for capturing intimate moments, is professional with time and communication, full of ideas and experience and is just an all round joy to work with - Sophie Barloc is the one!

If you are looking for someone who not takes BEAUTIFUL photos but is so lovely to be around then look not further. Initially I, (the bride) was quite nervous about what I would look like in our photos, but after seeing Sophie's work, we fell in love with the warmth and joy she so easily captures. We choose to have a pre-wedding shoot that I would strongly recommend to do as it really helped us get comfortable in front of the camera without the stress of having all your guests around. We spend hours walking around a beautiful park with Sophie and straight away she put us at ease. She took our inspo pictures and also brought some great ideas to make the experience so nice and easy. When we got the photos back I couldn't have been happier, they were so beautiful and I actually liked myself in them. So when it came to the wedding we felt like we could just fully trust Sophie to do her thing and it was such a lovely feeling. Also, a week before our wedding, our videographer pulled out and we were quite upset, so I contacted our suppliers to see if they knew anyone. Sophie came back to us straight away with a lovely lady she has worked with before with examples of their work and booked her for everything directly to really help us not stress. We haven't had our photos back yet as it's only been a week but we can't wait to see them and really wanted to share our love of Sophie here!

Sophie was really great throughout. She was really friendly and made us feel at ease, and managed to make the process feel so natural which was a feat given we are two people cursed with being rather camera-awkward. She was great at suggesting ideas and really receptive to ours. The photos came out beautifully and we love looking back at them. Lots of fun photos where we didn't even realise she was there!

We had a mixed experience working with Sophie. We hired her for our wedding shoot earlier this year. Initially, she was proactive, friendly, and seemed very keen on understanding our needs. However, after we paid her full fee upfront, her communication and reliability became less consistent. A few weeks before our wedding, I sent her an email to check if she needed any details. It took a couple of follow-ups before she replied with a pre-wedding questionnaire, which was thorough and helpful. After the wedding, though, communication became even more challenging. She missed three promised deadlines of her own for delivering our photos without providing updates. When I reached out for updates, her replies were slow and often mentioned she was abroad for other shoots. Half the time, I had to send multiple follow-up emails before getting a response. The wedding day itself went smoothly - Sophie was professional and kind, and the final photos turned out ok. However, the overall experience was stressful due to the communication issues and missed deadlines. We got the impression that she prioritizes marketing herself and securing new clients over maintaining a professional relationship with her current ones. If clear communication and reliability are priorities for you, it might be worth considering this before booking. I hope this was an isolated situation and that she has since improved her ability to manage her commitments.
