Hurst Community Centre

Discovered this event on fb and was intrigued as i love a bonfire and fireworks.. im not entirely sure even now where the name -firewalkers or was it firewatchers- originates, there were pictures and mini display versions but no written information though a lady did tell me that they were built with the scouts (but im not sure if she gave much more detail) tho i may have then darted off quite quickly as she said the fire lighting was due to start soon. The games were awesome and the kids seemed to love it- the people running them were engaging too.. i did think about getting a cuppa but as a cheap thing (free) to do i was then loathe to pay almost 3£ for tea and 4.50 for a regular anything else. It was good to see so many people stewarding and at points when the sparks from the fire were flying and the fire'man' was throwing more planks on- it was good there was someone else keeping an eye too! The music was great although i wonder if it was able to be appreciated as much as it could have been.. i has a good view and being in front of them could probably hear better yhan others, which wasnt the cade with the intro and speech as i was at the back

Such a grand old house, full of all sorts of sized rooms to hire. Warm in winter and lovely fresh air from the surrounding grounds in summer. Great carpark. Lots of tables and chairs, storagecupboards to rent with your room if needed. Lovely staff. I hope the centre stays and improves.

Serene environment, quiet and spacious car park. There is NHS GP within.

Great little local set-up run by enthusiastic volunteers whatever the weather. Good source of gardening information and excellent deals on most garden plants and products. Good social side too...

Been refurbished , grounds are kept lovely. Enjoy garden plants etc here every Sunday mornings 10 - 12 home grown plants for sale compost etc. Very helpful friendly people serving.

absolutely great place to hold an event or any birthdays or parties with three function rooms and ample meeting rooms with loads of space and very very very reasonable prices as well the staff here are very helpful and amazing will be coming back again to hold more events
