Cottrell Resort

We would like to thank Shelley, Nicole and the whole team at Cottrell Resort for making our wedding day unforgettable. We would highly recommend the venue. From the moment we booked, the team were friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. Nothing was too much trouble. The ceremony room and the function room were a perfect size for a smaller wedding of 60 guests. The weather was on our side too, so we were able to enjoy the patio, beautiful gardens and the stunning views across the vale, helping to create some memorable images. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was (we opted for the hot-fork buffet), and the service was excellent; friendly and efficient. We truly felt that the whole team wanted us to have an amazing wedding day; their enthusiasm was amazing, and they ensured everything ran smoothly. Thank you all so very much. Barrie and Heather

Booked our golf society there for probably around the 10th time now. Nicole and the team were very accommodating, friendly and kept us up to date with any changes. Welcoming from the outset, to taking pictures on the first tee. Food and the bar staff were all very polite and hospitable. We will definitely be booking again. No Longer a Driving Range We expected a driving range when visiting Cottrell Park Golf, but found out that was removed back in 2018. They now offer Simu Golf instead, which cost us £12 for 30 minutes. Personally, we much prefer an actual driving range, so this was a little disappointing for us. There are 4 simu golf bays, a putting room, and a large snooker table. The atmosphere was very quiet with no music playing, which may suit some people but felt a little flat for us. One thing to note is you need to bring your own golf clubs, balls, and even tees for the simulator. There were also no clear instructions on how to use the system, and while staff were available at reception, you had to walk back over if you needed help. The Simu Golf itself was okay, although it didn’t always pick up the ball properly which became frustrating at times. They do sell food on site, although we didn’t try any during our visit. Overall, not a bad place if you know what to expect, but if you prefer a traditional driving range like we do, this may not be the place for you.

I got married here on the weekend it is such a lovely venue. Amazing organisation by Nicole and the team. The food we had for our hot buffet was outstanding all the guests commented on how nice the food was as well. All the guests also commented how nice the venue was set out including the surrounding scenery really great for our wedding pics. We also had their own DJ and everyone had a really good dance. I can't fault this resort it was an amazing day and also was within our budget range too!

Big fan of Cottrell park, can't say anything about the rooms, i've never used them but both courses are very good, the clubhouse is very nice and now kitted out with a snooker table and golf sims. The bar is a good size offering food and drinks. I recommend playing here, i prefer the mackintosh but thats just based on a good score.

We had Ladies Captains Away Day on 8th August and it was absolutely fantastic. Golf course condition was perfect, customer service in Pro shop was excellent and food was absolutely amazing. Thank you very much for a wonderful day. LC Jo Xxx

The main square is undergoing a lot of refurbished at the moment and I hope it maintains his old charm. It’s a lot busier than when I was here five years ago but do be aware that if you interact with any of the entertainers they will expect money from you in return.
