Newforge House

From our first contact we just knew, we knew how extraordinary our stay would be . This exclusive "Guest House" our room, the leaf tea, the to-die-for shortbread -heart shaped biscuits , made by the family - Johns wife. Katherine, Sylvia, John - have already been amazing . The ambiance - the pleasure of enjoying the family generational home to reimagine the care the love the sheer feeling of sharing the house-the family home . We still have a day to go and John out - did all our expectations with the most incredible cheeseboard a last minute request that was a huge ask based on the dinner service . Memorable for all the right reasons the un-sweet fabulous preserve with the cheeses was almost unreal -complimented it so well.

We just want to thank John & everyone at Newforge House for the truly outstanding experience we enjoyed at your beautiful family home. We stayed there with our dear friends for a night. We are all agreed that we could not have reunited at a more perfect place. The house is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable. Everything you might need has been carefully considered. Dinner was wonderful and every bite was exquisite. And the shortbread was outstanding! We were so well looked after and we all felt completely comfortable and welcome. It was a total reset. So thank you to each and every one of you from all of us. We will definitely return.

Just back from 2 nights at Newforge House and we’re already thinking about our next stay - our weekend was absolute perfection. Location is perfect for exploring Stunning Northern Ireland and John and his team couldn’t do enough for us - best service we’ve ever had. We were a family of 4 with an 8 and 10 year old and everyone was so kind and accommodating for us. We loved having a pre and post dinner drink by the fire playing chess and draughts. Beds are incredibly comfortable, bathrooms have lovely hot and powerful showers. The food was the highlight - ate both nights at Newforge House with different menu both nights and we all agreed it was some of the best food we’ve ever tasted and great selection of drinks. Breakfast also was beautiful and kept us full most of the day. Thank you for a wonderful weekend, see you again soon!

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the outstanding food, lovingly prepared by John, who showcases the very best of local ingredients with skill and creativity. Every meal was a delight — from the beautifully presented dinner to the fabulous Ulster fry in the morning, which was simply the best we’ve ever had! It’s rare to find somewhere that feels both so special and so welcoming. We left refreshed, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. We can’t recommend Newforge House highly enough — an absolute gem.
