The Highfield

Stayed for work. Gorgeous building and room! I stayed in ‘the study’ if I were you, please ask not to be in that room. The blinds are awful. They don’t pull down, I had to get help as ones on ceiling are 7ft up so couldn’t reach. One shot up early hours and let all the light in and woke me up. It really needs sorting. Didn’t want to knock 2 stars off given it was so lovely otherwise. Mentioned on check out and it was clearly an issue that’s been noted. Breakfast was nice but £13 for a small brekky was excessive and wasn’t worth it. Don’t seem to have a bed and breakfast option which is odd. Went to bar twice and breakfast early with nobody in site.

Wedding. My husband and I got married at Highfield in May. There have been a lot of changes at Highfield since we booked our wedding here 2 years ago. We were apprehensive about a change in ownership/management with only a few weeks to go until our wedding, however Laura put us at ease after meeting her. Laura was great on the day and even helped out when the zip broke on my mum’s dress! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and had everything packed up ready for us leaving the next morning. Highfield is such a special place to get married, the house and grounds are absolutely stunning and the rooms are beautifully decorated. We can’t wait to keep coming back to see all of the new updates that are planned!
