Stifford Hall Hotel, Thurrock

Actually we went for a meal here. The venue is beautiful. The restaurant was really nicely set out, the food delicious, the gardens are really lovely. You can sense the history here. They made a fuss of my aunt for her birthday which was wonderful. Parking is free if you're a customer. Completely unexpected oasis. Very happy we went here.

The Saff are so unique here at the Stafford from The Back of house first ANGE THE HEAD CHEF AND HER TEAM OF UTTER PROFFESIONALS including Adam to the Front of House Kelly Hodges , Amanda , this place pulls you in and keeps you like an old friend .Just off the A1012 a venue that caters for any event . Today is a wedding and the food is outstanding and as a Chef we demand to go above and beyond the call of duty and THE STIFFORD WINS HANDS DOWN from all the hotels I've stayed in THE STIFFORD GETS 6 STARS . WILL UPDATE AS I STAY LONGER . 13M VIEWERS NEED TO READ ABOUT CLASS AND EFFORT AND THE STIFFORD HAS BOTH. CHEF DANNY MCDONNELL Just have to update. Food is exquisite Charlotte front of house was perfect tended to our needs . Plus big thankyou to Amanda for helping me move rooms and the rooms are the best I've stayed in so far in the mercure chain . The room was spotless thanks to the user efficiency of the back of house ladies x BIG THANKYOU

This is a AA 3 star hotel. However, customer service is 5 star. The staff here are clearly very focused on going the extra mile for their customers. I can't stress enough how brilliant they are.

I had a problem with the air conditioning of my room due to a rattling noise. I reported it to the reception in the morning, and told it would get fixed by the maintenance team. In the night when I came back the noise was still there. I went to reception again and they claimed they had not been informed. I requested a room change and they stated they were sold out and they couldn't help me. They did not offer other options to heat my room so had to sleep with coat on. I will not ever return to this hotel, being travelling for 15 years for business and its the first time I see myself in the need of raising a 1-star review. Never before I saw this passive approach and lack of customer focus. I have formally raised a claim to hotel management, not expecting to get an answer.

Really enjoyable stay although it was for work.The rooms are very good size ,clean and tastefull decor.All of tge staff are very pleasant and very very helpfull.

Freezing cold and no parking. Arrived to find car park full of builders vans and flat bed transits filling the car park. Whole hotel is cold, the restraunt, library etc all cold and room was like a deep freeze, 2 single glazed sash windows were letting in so much cold it was colder in the room than inside the fridge. Avoid this hotel in cold weather

Attended my nephew's wedding at this hotel. The wedding arrangements were fantastic. Hotel staff were brilliant 👏!
