Although they no longer do hot food The Boathouse Cafe is a must see cafe in Guildford! The views are beautiful, perfect riverside location right on the rivers edge! Lovely sitting out on a sunny day! It’s quiet and tucked away. They also had good WiFi and plenty of parking (basically in Millbrook car park), also completely accessible with lifts or ramps to every area. The coffee is delish and they even did Halloween themed latte art! A very personalised touch. Great selection of pastries along with crisps, bars and cookies!! Highly recommend! It’s such a hidden gem of Guildford!!

We just popped in here for a coffee as we had an appointment nearby. It's definitely a place we'd return to. It's such a gorgeous looking restaurant, with interesting decor and a lovely ambience. The coffee was great, the staff very friendly and when the sun is shining, I'm sure sitting on the deck overlooking the river would be pretty perfect.

It is an nice view of the canal. We ordered a bottle of wine and went outside because inside there are loads of people working on their computers. However, when outside, in the shade, today is 34 degrees, a women came from inside her office and informed us that we are not members and should not be consuming alcohol there, which I find very strange because we bought the bottle of rosé in their cafeteria and there was no sign of restrictions therein the space. Nonsense! It’s just unhappy people who can’t stand seeing others happy! First and last time!

This is a great location and a well designed space but …. It was unclear how to get service and there were a lot of leftovers from last night on some tables - including ash tray (shell) on the floor. I only had coffee which was very good and will definitely return but needs more focus.

Beautifully designed interior cafe with good coffee and in a great location, but there isn’t much of an option for seating to look out over the river or in the way of a quick pastry and coffee. This is definitely a sit down coffee and does not cater for a more casual grab and go style of morning. I imagine it’s much better in the summer when the outdoor tables open though, so worth a trip then rather than winter.

A lovely cafe! Homely, but still spacious and with plenty of seating inside and out. Fantastic views of the river if you’re outside too! I enjoyed the coffee, and the food was good too. But I did find the selection quite limited, it was primarily just sandwiches. I was there at 11am on a Sunday, and was surprised that they didn’t seem to have a breakfast menu. And if they did, they didn’t have it on the table, or offer it to us. Still, a nice place to sit and catch up with friends. Easy to walk from town, and with plenty of parking. £14.50 for a sandwich and a coffee.
