The Woods, Leeds

A fantastic experience trying out the new menu with great vibes at The Woods. We were very excited to try out the food and it did not disappoint. We love a well-thought menu that knows what it is (instead of trying to make everything!). Their hero dish is the rotisserie chicken which you can have with different types of sauces. All the different sides, flatbreads (Rarebit is MEGA) pair extremely well. Great selection of beers, attentive staff, super dog and baby friendly (we went at 6sh). 10/10 Thanks again!!! Luis

Had a great time here. The roof top terrace is good. Lots of outdoor seating and under cover. Friendly bar staff that looked after us. The food was really nice. Excellent wings and burgers. The halloumi burgers were top notch. The only issue was we were there for a christening so lots of kids and there was no plastic bottle soft drinks which did end in a glass being dropped and smashed by a kid.

A wonderful place. The Woods is everything a neighbourhood bar should be. Warm, welcoming and run by people who clearly care. The new menu is a triumph. The rotisserie chicken is outrageously good, and the pig tails are worth ordering for the novelty alone—crispy and addictive. No gimmicks, no deafening music, no manufactured atmosphere. Just brilliant food, great drinks and friendly staff. In an age where so many places mistake volume for personality, The Woods understands something far older and far wiser: people don't return because their ears rang for three days or they got a Guinness for £1. They return because they felt welcome and have good taste. Five stars. A magnificent establishment and one of Chapel Allerton's finest sanctuaries. Long may it thrive.

I honestly couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate my 30th birthday! I booked the events room and the whole team at The Woods went above and beyond to make the night so special. A huge thank you to Alisa, who was amazing from start to finish. She was so helpful, friendly and accommodating, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was absolutely incredible, the bar service was quick all night, and every member of staff was so welcoming and happy to help. The sound system and lighting were also brilliant and created the perfect atmosphere. Thank you to everyone at The Woods for making it such a memorable night. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a great venue for a celebration!

Fantastic every time we go. Been coming here for years and never disappoints! Owner/manager and staff are really nice, the events they’ve put on have always been excellent and the free drink covers the full price of the ticket. The monthly free cocktail for being on their mailing list is a nice bonus too. Great atmosphere, great beer choice and great food too!
