Spirella Ballroom

Restored period ballroom with dancefloor, bar and capacity to seat approximately 200 people. Light and airy with good acoustics and a raised stage. Ample parking available. Lift and stairs to the ballroom which is on the top floor of the Spirella Building.

The venue's air conditioning is unacceptably high I have been absolutely frozen and shivering in June, you need a winter coat in the summer. One time the aircon was level with the eyes and blowing straight in your face I could not open my eyes to look at the screen they were so painful which upset my sinuses for a fortnight, I should have claimed compensation. The audio system very rarely works properly, this should be setup well before the public arrive instead off losing over a quarter of a lecture from an hours talk. this establishment suffers from bad management and bad practice. I hope they go broke and close down I will never return.

This venue was used for my sister's wedding service, when we first made enquire about the venue the lady we spoke was very nice and told us the capacity and cost for the whole day. The next time we called to book and make arrangement the new person we spoke to was the worse person you could have ever speak with , no support what soever and I felt she did not want us to use the venue. On the day, she was really rude and unsupportive. Even though, this venue is lovely the management did not support us and this staff got away with her behaviour. I would just advice to get all information in writing because if you don't they can twist the information. I personally would not recommend the venue to anyone especially BME.

We saw Hansel and Gretel performed by the pop-up opera group at this venue. The perfect place for this sort of music. Friendly efficient staff. Roomey and comfortable.

Great venue for ballroom dancing. It has an excellent floor with fabulous lighting. Also has good ventilation system. Highly recommended.
