The School House Restaurant

We booked a last minute reservation on Saturday for a late lunch. They were very busy so luckily we had a table. We had the two course lunch menu and a large sharing platter. The portions were a good size and the menu had a variety of dishes. Food was cooked and presented well. Service was good. The outside was lovely with views across the field and with a small bridge across a stream. Ideal for a small reception or party.

To all the staff at the school house Thank you for a memorable day celebrating hubby's 70th. We had the private dining in St Mary's room. Set out beautiful with plenty of space for our large party. Food was amazing, hot and full of flavour. Not one complaint. Two grandchildren loved their meals. Nothing was too much trouble. Please pass on our sincere thanks to everyone

Came as part of a group and enjoyed everything. The service was really good, some of the group were chatting to the team on a first name basis by the end of it. Food is fresh but from what I understand the menu isn't necessarily available far in advance as it's dependent on what is on season. Everything was beautifully cooked although one of the party wasn't happy with the size of the chips (thought they were too big)and requested a change to fries which the team was happy to accommodate. There was a decent sized car park with beautiful views that you can take in if you sit outside. It seemed like a popular space though so I would very much recommend booking in advance.

We ate in one of the private rooms this evening for my nans 70th birthday. There were 22 of us and you wouldn't know it - the service was smooth, clearly a well oiled machine, staff were all friendly, food tasted great and the room was lovely. Shout out to our main man for evening, who's name I didn't get, however he was an absolute G and had such a laugh with us. Thank you!! Cant wait to come back and try the main menu!

We often book this restaurant above others locally due to the excellent service and cuisine when celebrating! Informal, but smart casual meets our tastes, whilst suits and dresses are equally at home in the dining room. It's difficult to get the balance right for everyone, but The School House does it with ease. Great food, expertly cooked and presented is the order of the day. You pay for quality produce, but more importantly, you can savour the care taken to put the plate ordered in front of you. Staff are friendly and professional and do their best to accommodate every need. Even during a very busy service waiting times are minimal and food arrives hot. It's the reason we return time and time again!

Thank you so much for our amazing wedding breakfast. The staff were attentive, and we felt very looked after. Our room was beautifully presented even before we added our own finishing touches. I can honestly say, we are both delighted with everything about the day! Me and Mrs Stretton

Visited for a midweek evening meal. The menu was really good with plenty of options to choose from. As of Jul24 the 2 course and 3 course options were priced really well and the quality of food was great. Great value for money. Lovely setting and nice atmosphere inside. It would definitely be worth visiting when it's sunny to sit outside. Prices of drinks were about average and service was great. Will definitely visit again!
