Excellent lunch at the Shed. Exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 5. The fish platter for starters with a bottle of English wine, the mains such as pork chops, duck and tuna were superb. The 2 waiters were knowledgeable and very friendly. This place is a real gem.
This is really a hidden gem in the area! The ingredients seemed very fresh but almost every dish was a little bland and lacked salt/ spice/ something more. However the atmosphere is lovely (but a little loud in peak hours), and I would recommend trying their English/ local wines. Our waitress Kia was lovely and very great at helping us out with the menu, however they could have used one extra waiter/waitress at hand as it was very busy.
The Shed offers a rustic and cozy atmosphere that makes it a perfect neighborhood getaway for food lovers. Their menu features beautifully presented dishes with a focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients and bold flavors. The service is consistently warm and attentive, ensuring every guest feels right at home from start to finish. Whether you are there for a casual brunch or a special dinner, it is an experience well worth the visit. The staff very nice.
I came for my partner’s birthday.. it was hard to find a decent restaurant that’s open on a Monday night! And the cozy Shed was buzzing from 7pm! Service was particularly helpful and lovely (extra thank you for the birthday candle in the mushroom eclairs). My complaint is that the menu is so extensive it’s hard to make choices. We settled on padron peppers (perfectly bubbled and salted) and a goat cheese tartlet (two-bites but creamy and yummy) to start. Then had the hake (beautiful sauce) and duck breast (weirdly tough to cut but incredibly tender and flavourful, also served with chestnut and nice jus). Try the English sparkling wine, this is the place to dip your toe in the water if you’ve never tried it. Looking forward to coming back for steak, they have a board with today’s cuts (sirloin, tri-tip, rump). Thank you everyone at the Shed. We had an exceptionally great time.
Absolutely incredible! I haven't seen a menu this interesting and unique. I really enjoyed their wild fallow deer pig skin gnocchetti. also their house made red wine and an intricate seasonal drink. We also had 3 other appetizer/tapas items from the menu- including bread and oysters which were all fantastic.
From the outside, it looked like a hidden gem tucked away deep in the forest, completely draped in lush green ivy. However, the interior design was a total surprise—it felt like you were out on the water paddling a kayak! The food was absolutely delicious, but what really made the experience stand out was the service from our server, **Kia**. They were incredible and gave us a very detailed breakdown of the flavors in every dish. The only slight downside is that the portions are a bit small, so it might not be quite enough for those with a larger appetite. Overall, though, it was a wonderful experience!
Excellent little find, tucked away by Notting Hill Gate. The atmosphere and overall venue is cosy and cute, especially around Christmas time and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. Big shout out to Kia who spent time engaging with us and other tables throughout the evening! Food was delicious - especially the scallops!
