The Space

A fantastic venue full of charm and character. The show was fantastic. It has a quaint bar with a great selection of spirits, wines and beers at affordable prices (a pint of Space Lager was £5 something). The food served was also terrific and very reasonably priced too. (£10 per meal). I think the staff are all locals which gives it a more authentic east end feel and they were great to chat to - which added to the warm and welcoming feel.

Highly biased as this is my local theatre but the entire team are so wonderful! Such a diverse selection of plays with a constantly evocative Fringe programme and wonderful service. Wish it was more accessible for the bar but that is the only issue really. Has plenty of outdoor seating so it can be seen as a compromise!

We had our humanist wedding ceremony at the Space (it is not licensed for legal weddings, we did this separately at a registry office). It's a lovely old building and worked really well for our ceremony. Theres a nice bar onsite and small outside area, partly covered which helped as it rained for some of the day. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hire rate is very reasonable. Thanks everyone!

A special mention to Katie in admin, who is an absolute credit to Space Theatre. She is professional, organised, and incredibly supportive, always going above and beyond to make everything run smoothly. Her patience, clear communication, and genuine care do not go unnoticed. People like Katie are what truly make this theatre work.

Excellent Fringe venue. A charity with a huge arty heart . Lovely staff and wonderful atmosphere in the bar before and after the show.

I only ate here so can’t speak to the events. Reasonably priced food and healthy portions. Friendly and helpful staff. I would particularly recommend the mezze plate, which looked delicious.

This nice historic building is situated on Westferry Road. Haven’t been to the theatre but the pub is really cozy and nice. A friendly place for the community to gather around. Drinks at reasonable prices. It is warm in the winter so it would be a good idea to come get some warmth! Bar staff is friendly! Customers seem to be well behaved too.
