Maldron Hotel Derry

The Maldron Hotel Derry enjoys an excellent central location within the historic city walls, making it easy to explore most of the city’s attractions on foot. It’s an ideal base for anyone wanting to experience Derry without needing to drive. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The hotel also has a lovely bar, and the restaurant serves good-quality food. I particularly enjoyed the chicken dish I ordered. Our room was spacious, modern, and spotlessly clean, with fantastic views over the city. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the pillows suited me perfectly, resulting in a great night’s sleep. While the bathroom was a little dated, it was a good size, and the shower had excellent water pressure. The room doesn’t have air conditioning or a mini fridge, but a fan is provided, which was appreciated. Breakfast was fairly simple, but everything was fresh, tasty, and a great way to start the day. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily recommend the Maldron Hotel Derry to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel in a superb location.

Shannon and Caoimhe were absolutely lovely, very helpful and friendly. Rooms & bathrooms were a good size and clean and comfortable. Great location, close to everything. Our room had a little noise at night when guests returned from partying but it quieted down quickly. Upon arrival parking wasn't available, so parked at Bishop Street car park for an hour and then a shot opened up so moved into the hotel. It's quite a large parking lot they have, but you need to get there around check out time when guests will be leaving, around 12-1pm and you can get a spot.

This hotel is of an excellent standard, everyone we encountered were of the highest customer standards I have encountered. We had an excellent stay with you and would certainly stay here if visiting the city again. There were two people I would like to mention, the chef who was on duty on 4 September both for his welcoming nature but very importantly his understanding of coeliac, my daughter suffers from this disease, he made sure she had a memorable breakfast. The other person I would like to mention is Shannon on reception. Shannon was bright and cheery and was very welcoming. She made sure we knew about the facilities of the hotel but also informed us of tourist sights we may wish to visit. As a 71 year old man and speaking for my wife and daughter as well, Shannon is easily the best receptionist we have ever come across.
