King's Oak Hotel

My fiancé and I booked the Oak Lounge for our engagement party, and everything was set up exactly as we’d hoped. The package included a resident DJ, and we were able to share our song requests in advance — plus our guests could request their own on the night, which we loved. We didn’t get a chance to try the food ourselves as we were busy making our way around the room, but our guests said the buffet was delicious and well deserved! The staff on the day were incredibly helpful and friendly, and they quickly organised extra seating when we realised we had a few more elderly guests than expected. The sales team were brilliant throughout the whole process, answering our questions promptly and supporting us every step of the way. We’d highly recommend this event space — and the venue overall!

Everything was very nice and clean. The water was a little cold, but if you want a warm bath, stay at home! I am not sure how suitable it is for small children because of the water temperature, but we still enjoyed it. The place could perhaps benefit from a little fresh paint, especially around the fountain, but overall it was lovely. The food was excellent, the prices were affordable, and the staff were polite and friendly. We really liked it and would visit again.

It was my first time here! The place was extremely busy during lunch time! But the food is amazing! Really good portion sizes! Some of them were massive to be honest! The garden is massive with a lovely play ground for bigger children but also for younger kids! Staff was really nice as well which is always a bonus! Would definitely be back again!

We had our engagement party in the oak lounge, what a beautiful room and the dj was included who was also very accommodating. Big thank you to the whole events team, they are very organised and a lovely bunch, and a huge thank you to our host on the night Ajay, he was so so kind and friendly to us and the service was amazing!!! I would definitely consider using this venue again for parties in future! Thank you so much! 🙂

I attended a birthday party here today. Beautiful venue and surroundings, lovely food and staff but hugely let down by who I assume was the manager. Rules are no problem and expected, however her approach was exceptionally rude and abrupt. Her communication skills and attitude towards paying guests needs vast improvement. Would not recommend or return due to her alone.

Whenever my family and I come to the area for a walk, we come here- Lured in by the benches in the sun, and play area nearby for the kids to run around (both great to be fair) we end up getting food. I always leave feeling like I've been had. It's not terrible, it's just absolutely average. £13 for a bang average baguette. What really gets to me (someone looking for a location myself) is knowing, just a tiny bit of care, thought and love could make this place( which is in an AMAZING location) a real standout business.

This place has a big beer garden with a really nice play area for kids and a big covered area. Food was good. Great location in Epping forest. They have an odd queuing system at one end of the bar... staff seem to be constantly correcting customers for having the audacity to walk up to the bar in a pub. They also have minimums for card payments which is really weird.
