Longton Wood

After having my first wedding to photograph at Longton Wood, I literally cannot wait to get back this year! The sounds of tall pine trees swaying in the breeze, the crunch of leaves under your feet is literally a marriage made in heaven (excuse the pun) with a wedding story! With so many different spots to choose from to photograph, and the real sense of being in the middle of nowhere, when you're only a few miles from Maidstone, it's quite an incredible place! An absolutely fantastic spot to photograph, and host a wedding for lovers of the outdoors!

I loved photographing at Longton Woods for the first time this Summer. It's so unique to have a wedding ceremony in the woods and during times of quiet you could just hear the bird song and leaves rustling. Beautiful surroundings and really nice team to work alongside. Longton wood is such a special wedding venue. It feels magical from the moment you arrive and like you are nestled in your own private woodland. There are glamping teepees on site, plenty of space to add your own personalisation and the clear marquee is such a beautiful addition as you feel connected to nature the whole time. With beautiful dappled light during the day and festoon lights hung from the trees that light up the path at night, it was a dream to photograph and allowed me capture the most beautiful wedding photographs. I can't wait to return and would highly recommend if you're looking for a woodland wedding venue that feels very special.

We had an absolutely magical day at Longton Wood on the 13th May! The venue is stunning and all of our guests were blown away by how unique it is. And we got BLUEBELLS in droves, which fulfilled my dream of being married amongst them. The day didn't go without it's hitches, as I'm sure is the same with lots of weddings, but Jennifer was straight on it with rectifying things. Overall, our guests had a wonderful time and it was the perfect setting for two nature lovers to celebrate our wedding. Thank you so much! Hazel and Chris xx

It’s probably not too much of exaggeration to say that Longton Wood made our wedding what it was. We had a lot of ideas to begin with, but they didn’t really start to come together until we found Longton Wood. As a blank canvas venue, we couldn’t recommend it more. On our very first visit we both instantly saw how a wedding could come together, and we both saw ways we could make it uniquely ours. Jen, the owner, couldn’t have been more accommodating. We threw a number of audacious ideas at her, and so long as she was happy that they were safe and wouldn’t damage the woodland, she was happy to let us get on with them. This resulted in the ceremony space being an epic 2 day installation that couldn’t have happened anywhere else. The venue is very much a patch of woodlands. It’s tended well enough to make it comfortable for the use of both guests and vendors, without being so manicured that it loses all sense of wildness. The site has it’s own beast of a generator quietly tucked out of the way that kept all the electricals running nicely. The amenities blocks offers clean and comfortable toilets and showers, and a useful dry storage/ prep space. Furthermore, there was no noise curfew imposed on the festivities. All of this came together to keep our 120 guests comfortable for the full weekend festival that grew around our folklore wedding. We truly had the most amazing wedding because Longton Wood was everything we wanted and more. A perfect blank canvas venue that brings a little of its own magic to the day.

As soon as we stepped into Longton Wood we knew it was the perfect venue for us. Not only is it just. so. beautiful, but it’s also in an absolutely perfect location and gives so much opportunity for freedom to create a truly unique day exactly the way you want it. We started excitedly planning the moment we drove away down the track from our first viewing! It doesn’t feel fair to call Longton Wood a blank canvas venue when the woodland gives such a stunning surround to whatever you want to bring in. We loved that we could build an event there that was truly unique to us but that Longton also provides the bits that tend to be a bit trickier and not very exciting to pick! - bathrooms, lighting generator etc. We really appreciated how fantastic Jennifer, the owner, was to work with. Her ethos seems to match her venue perfectly, she truly gave us the space and freedom to make the weekend as we wanted it - whilst also being incredibly helpful (and calm!) whenever we had questions/worries. Our guests all had a fantastic time - people are still talking about how great our venue was, months later! We couldn’t have loved the whole day more! At Longton we were able to have exactly the day and evening we hoped for, from the moment we walked down the aisle to the small hours of the morning sitting around the firepit. It went far too fast but we wouldn’t change a thing. We can’t imagine our wedding having been anywhere else. Thank you Longton!
