Awesome place to visit, they also have a load of seasonal activities throughout the year. The Manor House is extremely well maintained and preserved, having lots of original furnishings throughout. The grounds are very well maintained too. There’s a lot of historical artefacts on display, also links with the Royal Family.

Nice old stately home. Gardens wasn't as nice as I read about. Not a great deal to see inside. We had free entry as National Trust members, I would have been disappointed if I'd had to pay. Lovely cafe though.

Amazing national trust property, really unusual house. Full of character and history. Nice gardens to wander around too. It feels like a real home that people have actually lived in. The volunteers were so friendly and informative. Loved it.

The Guide's talk was very informative regarding the house and the area's history. A fascinating place and a good shop. I was surprised to find I was there for almost three hours. Quality long case clocks, including a Thomas Tompion. Not well signposted; in a maze of little roads. Even Google was somewhat confused.

This is a lovely house sat in very tranquil grounds, at the time full of purple Poppies and you can buy these seeds in the great little gift shop. It takes about an hour to walk around the house and take in the different aspects of the buildings interior such as the huge window to the front still maintaining a lot of it's original glass and the ceilings in a lot of the rooms which show off the decorative plaster work of the day. There are a lot of old clocks dotted about the house which chime at regular intervals, these have been donated to the house by one of the previous proprietors and in the long hall at mid-day there is quite a tune. You will see lots of pictures on the walls of familiar people if you visit a lot of National Trust houses in the South West, you'll see similar pictures at Killerton House in Mid Devon as the same people owned both houses at one point in time. There is a lovely cafe with plenty of seating inside and out and a car park with plenty of space. There is also a bicycle work station with attached tools for those that may need attention to their two wheeled friend. Well worth a stop 😊
