10/10, fabulous menu catering for vegans, vegetarians and celiacs, as well as carnivores! Tea is served in a pot with a jug of hot water to top up! Coffee was fab and the gluten free cake was amazing. popped in for lunch the next day and it didn’t disappoint. Highly recommended!
Had such a lovely visit! We chose to sit outside, which made the whole experience even more lovely with the sun, the atmosphere was relaxed with soft music playing in the background. The staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly, which really made a difference. The food was absolutely spot on, we ordered toasties, I had a cheese, Serrano ham, and hot honey it was incredible. Everything was 10/10 and I genuinely couldn’t fault it. There’s plenty of seating available and it’s great to see the space is accessible too, making it welcoming for everyone. What started as a quick stop turned into a much longer, more enjoyable outing, we ended up exploring the surrounding yard and all the lovely little shops nearby. A really great spot and well worth a visit!
The perfect lunch/brunch spot in Dorset. Situated in a lovely parade of shops and local businesses this place is ideal to stop in for a meal. My friend and I came in for some lunch and it was packed (rightfully so) they handed us a buzzer so we could come back when a table was available and we went for a wonder around the courtyard to look at some of the shops. When we got seated we were in this lovely converted barn space. Now the food; it was the star of the show. We both got the steak sandwich and wow they were amazing! Perfectly medium rare steaks nestled on fresh ciabatta served alongside crispy french fries with a a generous helping of the creamiest, zestiest Bernaise sauce. The staff were are super friendly, polite and helpful. If you are in the area or looking for a gorgeous brunch location, THIS is the place to come.
Camping nearby so visited Saturday and Sunday for breakfast. Food and service are exceptional. Bit of a wait on Saturday but the food is worth it! The little shops around are great for a look around pre or post food as well.
Really great cafe. We had breakfast after walking over from the caravan site. Cooked breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. The menu is comprehensive and offers all sort of tempting choices. The staff were really attentive and helpful. The place was full but didn’t feel cramped. Bonus being it’s dog friendly as well. Well worth a trip out.
Really delicious coffee and food! Lovely courtyard with plenty of outdoor seating and friendly staff. Also really loved the choice in music.
I don’t usually write reviews, as I like to give places the benefit of the doubt and I know how tough the hospitality industry can be. However, I have recently become gluten free and am starting to notice how poor the portion sizes can be at certain establishments. I ordered a gluten-free "toastie". Unfortunately, the word toastie is not the correct term, as it is labelled underneath in small writing as a gluten-free roll. A cold roll, may I add. This was really upsetting, as I completely missed where it said roll and was very excited about receiving a warm gluten-free toastie, which are hard to find when eating out. My advice would be to change the word toastie to roll, as it is very misleading on your menu. After seeing the toastie pictures online, I was quite taken aback by the size of the gluten-free "toastie". I understand you have priced these the same as the regular toastie, which is great to see. However, I would have been happier paying £1 more to receive a more filling lunch, as the portion size of the gluten-free roll was much smaller than a regular toastie. I’m hoping to come back to The Cowshed in the future, try something else from the gluten-free menu, and have a better experience. 🙂
