The Newtown

I held my wedding reception here on Saturday & it was the best night I could ask for! It was decorated beautifully and everyone had an amazing time! I can not recommend The Newtown any more, thank you team!

I’m extremely disappointed with the way my family and I were treated when we tried to visit the Newtown Con Club today. As a current member, I simply wanted to come in for a drink with my family, who are also interested in joining. However, we were met at the door by a woman who asked, "What do you want?" in a tone that was unfriendly and unwelcoming. This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable, especially in a place that should feel safe and welcoming for families. Unfortunately, the poor treatment didn’t stop there we were then approached by another member of staff who was equally dismissive and unwelcoming. I could understand if there had been an event or if the venue was particularly busy, but that wasn’t the case. The behaviour we experienced was simply rude and unprofessional. I hope someone from the club will contact me directly to address this issue and arrange a full refund for my upfront membership payment. This experience has left us feeling very let down.

Fantastic function room and staff. We hosted my mums 60th birthday here at the weekend and were delighted with every aspect. Communication was great during the viewing/booking process, no request was too much. Unlike a lot of other places we were allowed to supply our own buffet and decorate the venue as we wished. The party was on the evening but we were allowed in all day to set up. The bar area is lovely and raised away from the dance floor that had a stage big enough for the dj that we booked. The bar staff were fantastic, worked really hard all night whilst also having a laugh and a chat with us all. I highly recommend this venue and I don’t feel the pictures online do it justice. We will be hiring the hall again for the next big birthday. Thank you to Fran and team for a great party.

What can we say, a fantastic team! We came to Newtown asking for urgent help seeking a reception venue, as our venue at the time had let us down 4 weeks prior to our wedding! Fran, was fantastic, kind and compassionate and helped us straight away! Her team behind the bar on the day were professional and had a great sense of humour. Our evening turned out to be beyond amazing and everything came together smoothly! The tables and chairs were laid out beautifully using the table cloths the club had provided. The communication between us as a couple, to Fran and the members of staff was spot on! Thank you once again for helping our day and evening to become special and one to remember! Highly recommended.
