Village Hotel Portsmouth

If I didn’t have to go to work I’d be at the village gym every day either attending one of the many classes, using the lovely big pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi or the gym facilities. It’s like a community at the gym and everyone is friendly. My favourite classes are the spin and trip cycling, Kelly one of the instructors is so motivating and upbeat, she’s amazing! Alison drives a hard class too. Cycling is something I thought I’d never do or get into by the way and I actually love it. It’s great exercise and feels good to be part of what Kelly calls the team. There’s so many different classes to choose from and I’ve found being part of the gym is a big part of my life now. I’d be lost without it.

I had an amazing time here, the club room was a bit small concidering what i paid but the beds where so comfy. Having access to the pool and gym was an added bonus. Breakfast was lovely a lot of options and allergy friendly. There was a lovely waitress in the pub & grill, chloe, she was kind and attentive, no only towards me but was so sweet, to everyone else, she was a fantastic waitress and filled every request.

Excellent hotel and great service from the staff at the reception and the spa/gym. The room was equipped with a kettle, coffee and tea. Shower room was modern and spotless, providing shampoo and shower gel. I also used the pool and sauna. All was clean and nice. They provide free parking if you register your car during the check-in. I spent one night at Portsmouth Village hotel and would come back again if I am in the area.

Just back from a excellent overnight at The Village Portsmouth. Great check-in with the very helpful Charlotte giving advice on the local area, service with a smile goes a long way! We had the Club Room which was whilst very small really nice, lovely comfy and massive bed and a really good over head shower. We booked breakfast and dinner package, the evening meal was fantastic. Callum greated us at the table what a lovely chap very friendly clearly loves his job, really looked after us well and I could see him spreading joy to all the other dining customers. The food was cooked perfectly and the deserts were a delight. Whole experience was brilliant, all staff were great but Charlotte and Callum deserve the special mention.

Easy access from motorway and to surrounding shops and venues. The hotel was clean, with friendly staff and excellent amenities. The room was lovely and tidy, modern and well equipped, as was the gym. Will happily stay again for future visits

Do not stay here if you want a quiet peaceful hotel!!!! It's more like a bar and grill and gym with rooms on top. More a party hotel, full of the types you don't want to be around. The type that don't understand basic respect for others. Rooms are absolutely tiny. The smallest of any chain I have stayed in. The walls are paper thin. No soundproofing whatsoever. I've stayed in hostels with beter soundproofing and bigger rooms. The person in the room next to me was blasting music so loud it filled the corridor. Pint glasses left outside rooms. People giving you dirty looks when you go in and out the entrance. TV is big but when the room is so small that's pointless as you're way too close to the TV. When I stayed there was some sort of car motorbike cruise in the car park. Bikes revving at full pelt bouncing off the limiter, whilst at a standstill.loud as hell. No staff went to clear them off. No police called. Check in system is ridiculous, self check in which takes ages and doesn't even look like a reception so it's easy to miss. No sign saying reception , just some I pad type things in a circle with a staff member there. Bottom floor is also crammed, nowhere near big enough for the number of people. The only good thing is the room was modern but that means absolutely nothing if you're waiting for more noise to wake you up. The closest experience I can can think of to living in uni halls with the types that set off the alarms every night. Also the satellite TV is a lie . It's digital terrestrial. Late check out is meant to be included with club room, yet on arrival it's an extra charge The website makes it out to be some up market type of place but really it's a chavvy overcrowded place absolutely not designed for a quiet stay. So if you want somewhere quiet and peaceful, book elsewhere.
