The Mansion House

Visited for corporate office away day. Pleasant setting, well kept grounds. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very high standard especially for a mass catered event. We were a large group so be aware that there are rooms in the Mansion House and separate golf hotel, but the separate building is only a short walk, I recommend finding the walk through the grounds rather than the car park! Games in the grounds, croquet, jenga, connect 4, skittles, and plenty of seating to enjoy outside. My first visit to a De Vere hotel, hopefully not my last! I would recommend for corporate events.

We got married here and we came back ten years later. Some areas of the hotel have been refurbished and it all looked great. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful, we had a bottle of bubbly waiting for us in the suite and when we explained we didn’t drink they promptly swapped it for a discount against our dinner which was a lovely touch. The rooms are beautiful all extremely well equipped. We didn’t like the app they now use to order room service at all, but I’m keeping it to five stars because everything else was flawless and the staff are all just fantastic.

What a fabulous afternoon tea I enjoyed here with my mother after a long ramble round Mortimer. At the time we went the cakes were Jubilee themed, and such lovely attention to detail. I booked through afternoontea.co.uk which is worth checking if the venues own websites say they are fully booked - they are not - we were one of only three tables in fact. Such a beautiful setting too for many special occasions.

Great service friendly staff. Room was clean but overall hotel cleanliness below par. Below average breakfast, Luke warm buffet was disappointing. Unimpressive facilities but decent gym.

Set in the grounds of Wokefield Estate & golf course it's only 2 miles from J11 of the M4 but feels like deep in the countryside. Deer and hare roam the golf course and the lakes attract various wild ducks and Geese.
