Rochdale Royale

Went to the buffet on (14/12/25). I must say the food was absolutely disgusting and old. Even the naan bread was warmed in the microwave which was a surprise for me! The sweet rice was soggy and smelt bad. Very limited choice on the buffet for a price of £20. I'll advise anyone not to try this and waste your money, better to go somewhere in Manchester or something. I gave honest feedback to the owner who just said I'll let the kitchen know, like he doesn't know what's happening. There was only another family dining in the buffet at the time, lovely guy who was equally as disgusted as was I. A waste of £20. Would have been better spent if given to charity!

The food was delicious with a great variety of dishes, everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was family-friendly and welcoming—definitely worth a visit!

How has this place even got a 3.9 rating? Worst buffet I've ever been to.... shocking! Save your money and go else where.... cold and stale food.... that's if there's even anything in there to eat as there was hardly anything there... had to ask them numerous amount of times to refill but that was a waste.... as they didn't even bother. 0/10!

I recently visited Royal Restaurant and Buffet with my family, and we had an excellent experience from start to finish. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and provided attentive, friendly service throughout our visit. The food was of high quality, with a wide selection of dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. The dessert section offered an impressive variety of sweets, which my children absolutely loved — especially my 6-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, and the décor created a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for families. We truly enjoyed our time and appreciated the comfortable environment and outstanding service. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I would highly recommend Royal Restaurant and Buffet to anyone looking for great food, excellent service, and a family-friendly setting. M.Habib

Nothing to say wow about. The menu online was not what we got offered. There was hardly anything out. They said they only do what they promised on a weekend but nothing shows that before you sit down and it’s still the same price after you pay. I wouldn’t come back. The only dessert option was carrot halwa and it was full of rose water so you couldn’t even eat that.

Took kids to the segway disco, they found it a little boring for there ages. Only aloud in one direction food and drinks are a bit on the expensive side. Toilet facilities available

I've been to Royale Rochdale several times and have been previously been very impressed with the food and customer service. Today (28/12/25) we had a totally different experience and will not be returning. Yesterday we phoned and booked a table at for 11 people and was told this was fine. On arrival there was no staff at the reception desk ( previously we've been greeted by the ?owner who was very welcoming). We had the opposite experience today no staff on reception and only one woman who appeared to be running the place. We waited several minutes to be seated. The restaurant itself previously had a warm atmosphere with music on today it was the opposite flashing lights and only one other table in. The restaurant was also freezing and unclean with piles of rubbish lying brushed on the side. We waited ages for our drinks order to be taken. Then came trying the food. The chips were freezing cold. The food was also not all labelled correctly for example there was fish in with onion bhajis. As someone who works in the food industry I explained by law the food needs to be labelled correctly with allergens. The woman did not seem to the understand this ? Language barrier. I asked to speak to the manager but she said she was. Previously this establishment had fantastic staff , but now the staff appear to significantly lack customer service, food safety and hygiene training. The drinks took far too long to come and we decided to leave after a few bites of the starters as the food was quite frankly disgusting. So disappointed as this place used to be great with fantastic customer service.
