This beautiful 18th century walled garden, just a 5 minute walk from the priory, is not to be missed, especially as it's included in the admission price for the priory and museum. It's easily reached from the car park by crossing the bridge over the dual carriageway and then following a well signposted footpath through woodland to the garden entrance. The ornamental gate was locked when I visited, and I entered through a little cottage a short distance to the right. The walled garden is quite extensive with a cottage garden, arches, pergolas, vegetables and fruit trees. Absolutely loved the tree blossom, the wisteria growing profusely on brick walls, and the herbs used to treat all manner of ailments! There's a delightful summerhouse with sheltered seating and picnic tables, a children's play area, and some interesting artworks. The plants were well labelled, and gardeners were hard at work tending them. The staff were so enthusiastic and friendly, especially the girl at the entrance who recommended going to see the bluebells in the nearby orchard and woods. Altogether, a lovely and peaceful place to absorb the sights and sounds of nature!
Lovely wall garden well worth the visit. This lovely garden is part of the Brooke family home unfortunately the house has gone but the gardens are lovely will be coming back in the summer.
A really interesting garden across the carpark from the priory museum, entrance to the garden is included in the museum ticket and it is a really nice area to walk around and explore.
Beautiful peaceful historic place. Wonderful nature walk, and stunning walled garden
Loved it . Not to busy nice easy walks great for kids to run . Whole place was fantastic. Staff are amazing . Cafe is really nice and unlike like some wasn't expensive.
Loved it here, spent 4 hours walking around taking photos looking at history and learning. The cafe is very nice and extremely reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful, would recommend Norton Priory to everyone young and old
Substantial grounds to walk around, a museum for those interested in the history and an exhibition area with something for the children. The volunteers were very friendly the entrance fee was reasonable. The walled garden was beautiful.
