We had a twilight spa last week, it was an amazing visit. A highlight for me was definitely the outside space on a beautiful sunny evening with amazing Balearic cafe bar music playing. So tasteful! It made for such an amazing atmosphere and made me feel like I was on a lovely retreat holiday. The food was delightful, the ishga massage was incredible and staff were all lovely! Could do with more changing rooms as some selfish people were claiming a changing room while they went off and had a 15 minute shower.
Very disappointed. Arrived to find nobody at reception for several minutes. Checked in to sea view room that only offered a sea view if standing up and looking over the caravan park. The rooms was tired and had faulty light electrics. After a bit of to-ing and fro-in we ended up in an executive room. It was Ok, but the bath wouldn’t empty, the beds were not turned down and the provisions were not re stocked. Dinner was average. Breakfast equally so. They had no oat milk. They had no lager from the list except for Peroni. The spa was scruffy and crowded. All focus and attention seemed to be on preparations for a hotel anniversary celebration with dignitaries. The bill was incorrect and did not have several hundred pounds worth of vouchers applied. Overall very disappointing and we’ll not be returning nor recommending.
Booked afternoon tea for two, originally booked for the 14th August but needed to change to 21st August, no issues at all. On the day we were served by Abigail who was so helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious and plentiful. Thank you for a great time.
My daughter and I had the most lovely time at Seaham hall. From our arrival to the awesome fountain in the front entrance, car charging very easy for electric vehicles and an easy walk down to the beautiful beach - it truly felt like we were there for much longer than 1 sublime night. We loved our room - a junior suite and it was spotlessly clean. Non feathered pillows and duvet provided were very much appreciated. The afternoon evening sun in the room was such a treat. The food was excellent. The portion sizes in Geko are huge, but very thoughtfully put together and many healthy options. My daughter was absolutely thrilled she could wear her dressing gown and slippers to dinner! The spa pools are a sensory delight and so in k
We were so disappointed with our stay here. We booked this hotel as a special treat for the day after our wedding, so we had high expectations for what should have been a memorable experience at a 5-star property. Unfortunately, from the start, the service fell short. The bar had run out of several of the drinks we requested, yet we were told they were available elsewhere in the hotel at the spa. For a hotel of this standard, I wouldn’t expect that level of inconsistency. The room itself was lovely but when making our booking we had noted that we were celebrating both our wedding and my father’s birthday. We weren’t expecting anything extravagant, but not even a simple handwritten note saying "Congratulations" or "Happy Birthday" felt like a missed opportunity to acknowledge two special occasions. The food was excellent and there were a couple of standout members of staff. The concierge was wonderful and the lady who showed us the Aston Martin outside was fantastic and genuinely engaging. Sadly, beyond those interactions, the service throughout the hotel was very underwhelming. I’ve received far better service at many 4-star hotels. One example was when we requested a Baileys Espresso Martini and were simply told it wasn’t something they could make because it wasn’t on the menu but they had all the ingredients. Again, not what I’d expect from a luxury hotel. Considering the amount of money we spent, along with the service charge added at checkout, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. This stay was meant to be a special celebration, but instead it left us feeling let down. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
Easter Saturday 1 night stay in the garden suite with hot tub. Won a night stay through work so came for our anniversary. Got down a couple of hours before check in to take advantage of the connected spa. Enjoyed a couple of stints in the steam rooms and cold plunge before a little relax in the quiet room and by the pool. Went to our back to reception to check into our room. Room was very spacious and loved the colours of the furnishings. Light controls take a bit of understanding to know what button controls what area. Bathroom is really big and the bath is a nice touch (including the rubber duck) We feel there should be an asterisk on the description to call the hot tub ‘private’ when there is a room with a Juliet balcony that overlooks you. Also no lights or anything around the hot tub on the pergola which would be a nice touch for an evening. We only got a couple of hours in it before dinner and then a storm came through so didn’t have chance to go back out. It’s a nice sized tub for two though I will say that. Another thing is that I didn’t take a plug to charge my phone as I just assumed there would be USB charging on the sockets, think again, and also get ready to bend down and reach behind the bed side tables to get to them. All in all we enjoyed our night but think if we had paid for the stay we would have been a bit disappointed with what we got in the room for the money it normally costs.
