Burlton Manor. What a place. What a team. We fell in love with Burlton Manor the very first time we visited. We knew we wanted a wedding venue that was gorgeous, dog-friendly for the whole day, and somewhere we could truly make our own for the weekend. What we didn't expect was the wonderful team that came with it. Katie, Hayley and everyone else are just amazing. Throughout the planning process, Katie was wonderful. She guided us in the areas we struggled with while totally understanding the concept we wanted for our slightly non-traditional wedding. She struck the perfect balance between offering support and giving us the freedom to do things our way. The team were also incredibly accommodating, adapting nearly everything to suit our needs, including drink packages and even creating a special toasting drink for us. Then on the day itself, the team ensured everything ran seamlessly from start to finish. Nothing was too big or too small of an ask, whether that was checking the ingredients in drinks to make sure I wasn't allergic to them, ensuring that all of our vendors were offered food and drinks, or even looking after our dog. They thought of absolutely everything so that we didn't have to. We cannot thank you enough. As for the venue itself, every single part of it is gorgeous. The gardens, the ceremony room, the barn, the getting ready areas, the bridal suite and all the rooms and pods. I honestly don't think pictures fully do it justice. Thank you for giving us the best day ever. We will treasure the memories made at Burlton Manor forever.

We recently got married at Burlton Manor and, overall, it was a beautiful venue for our wedding. The setting is stunning, the grounds are immaculately maintained, and the attention to detail from Katie and Hayley throughout the planning process and on the day itself was second to none. They were professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our wedding run smoothly. However, there were a number of issues in the lead-up to our wedding that we feel prospective couples should be aware of. Firstly, after postponing our wedding from 2025 to 2026, the new contract introduced a £500 fee (or 10% of the total catering bill, whichever is greater) for caterers to use the venue's kitchen facilities. Whilst this charge is billed directly to the caterers, it is inevitably passed on to the couple. Given that the venue is hired exclusively, this additional cost felt disappointing and unexpected. Secondly, because we moved our wedding from a weekend date to a Thursday, we were required to pay an additional £1,000 simply to keep the bar open for an extra 45 minutes. Even with this additional charge, guests were still expected to vacate the premises by midnight. This felt excessive, particularly given the significant overall cost of hiring the venue. The most disappointing issue concerned the accommodation pricing. Around 10 weeks before our wedding, the owner increased the prices of the rooms and cottages. Our guests had not yet booked because bookings required a code, and we were managing room allocations via a spreadsheet. Approximately 12 weeks before the wedding, both myself and a friend attempted to book a cottage using the code, but it did not work. I mentioned this during a meeting at the venue and was told the code had been reset and should now function correctly. However, when the accommodation price increase was later announced, I raised concerns that guests had been unable to book at the original rates due to the code issue. At that point, I was told there had never been any problem with the code and that it had not been reset. This directly contradicted what I had previously been told and was extremely frustrating. Ultimately, the owner said that price increases were in the terms and conditions, and the original rates were not honoured. As a result, guests staying in the cottages paid approximately £100 more, while those booking rooms paid an additional £20 per night. Another issue arose the evening before the wedding. We had booked almost all of the accommodation for both nights and had arranged a pizza van and drinks reception on the terrace. Unfortunately, the weather was extremely cold. While I completely understood that we could not use the main room because it had already been set up for the wedding, I was disappointed to be told that the patio heaters could not be used because there was only enough gas for one night. Given the cost of the venue and the fact they were aware of our plans for the evening, this felt unreasonable. Finally, the hanging space in the barn rooms was surprisingly limited. As a wedding venue, many guests will naturally bring formalwear and full-length dresses. The hanging rails provided did not accommodate longer garments properly, which seemed like a significant oversight for a premium wedding venue. In summary, we absolutely loved the venue itself and cannot speak highly enough of Katie and Hayley. They were fantastic. Unfortunately, our experience with the owner left us feeling disappointed. There appeared to be a strong focus on maximising revenue through additional charges and price increases, often at the expense of customer goodwill. Burlton Manor is undoubtedly a beautiful wedding venue, but the issues we encountered before the wedding significantly impacted what should have been an exciting and enjoyable planning process

We’re based in London and specifically wanted a countryside escape for our wedding and Burlton Manor delivered that and so much more. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right choice (it was actually the only venue we visited, and for very good reason haha!) The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with so many different areas to explore. Our guests were genuinely surprised by how much the space had to offer!! Every corner felt unique and added to the overall experience. It created such a magical, immersive atmosphere across the whole weekend. What truly made everything exceptional, though, was the team. Every single member of staff went above and beyond, not just for us, but for all of our guests. They are an incredibly professional, warm, and attentive team (and we loved that it’s a majority female team too - let’s go girls!). Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely team. A very special thank you to Katie, our wedding planner and coordinator, who was simply phenomenal. Everything ran so smoothly because of her, and we felt completely relaxed and calm throughout. something we didn’t think would be possible as Type A brides! Her organisational skills are genuinely unreal, and she handled every detail with such ease There were also so many thoughtful touches that meant the world to us: from hanging up my wedding dress to leaving pizza and cake in our room at the end of the night to make sure we had something to eat. It’s those little moments that really show how much they care! 🥹 As an LGBTQ+ couple, we couldn’t have asked for a more inclusive and supportive venue. The team were incredibly accepting, experienced, and proactive in making sure everything reflected us. They offered thoughtful adjustments, like providing a second bridal getting-ready space, and always asked questions rather than making assumptions. The same level of care extended to cultural elements of our wedding to, they made helpful suggestions and were genuinely invested in getting everything right. All in all, we absolutely loved our experience. Burlton Manor is a truly special place with an outstanding team behind it, and we would wholeheartedly recommend it!! especially to other LGBTQ+ couples looking for a venue that is not only beautiful, but genuinely inclusive and attentive.
