Thornton Hall Hotel & Spa

As a birthday treat my partner booked the luxury spa night away for us at Thornton Hall, I’m so glad he did because we had such a lovely time. From start to finish everything was peaceful and easy. The services were great, spa was clean and relatively quiet, enough there for a peaceful afternoon relaxing. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, we also had a balcony which was lovely. Food was great with great choices and all the staff we encountered were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. I had a gorgeous massage by a lady called Claire who was amazing and took her time and made sure she knew what I wanted and how I was feeling. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back.

Would have been a 5 * but the breakfast really lets this place down. Now the food in the restaurant/bar/room service is great but the cooked food ie English breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. The bacon is always undercooked and fatty, sausages are dry, scrambled eggs are swimming in water etc I think everything is precooked hours before serving which does it no justice. And yes I've been down at different times to see if the food is any better and it really isn't. Anyway apart from the English breakfast type food the other breakfast item are great. The resort itself is awesome that's why me and my wife go back time and time again Thornton Hall, get the breakfast sorted and you would have a 5* rating😁

I booked an overnight spa stay for my wife's birthday and paid the extra £25 to have birthday balloons etc in the room when we arrived. The room was incredible, the service was faultless and the spa facilities are excellent. We are from the early bird menu and the food/cocktails were outstanding. It's such a lovely place and it definitely didn't feel like we were only half an hour away from home (Liverpool). It was the perfect overnight spa stay and honestly I'm not sure how you'd improve it! Perfect.

Easy to get to- just off the motorway. Staff were incredible and so accommodating, getting us drinks whenever and upgrading our room free of charge for our anniversary. Special shoutout to worker/bartender Dan who was so lovely and personable, he really made our experience 10 times better. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. Feel like we made our money back and then some.
