Wags and Whiskers

We used Ioana and Angela to look after our lovely boy for our wedding in August 26 at the old Kent barn. They were great from the start! We had a meet before the day where they met Murphy and he got used to the home he would be spending the night in. Ioana and Angela arrived on time and looked after him all day, ensuring he had a walk around the venue before the ceremony and let him mingle with all the guests. He was absolutely their priority for the whole day and were on hand to help wherever they could. He then spent the night and we collected a very happy boy the next morning. Booking Wags & Whiskers is the best decision I made for our wedding. During our wedding planning we had decided it was probably best to not have our dog at the wedding as hes still fairly young and can be a bit of a menace. However, months out I just kept thinking over and over how much I would love him to be there so in the end I planned it as a surprise for my other half. I had been in touch with a few dog chaperones but Wags and Whiskers really stood out from the others. When enquiring Ioana was so very helpful in working out the logistics. My dog was staying in the kennels so I needed them to pick him up from there, to the wedding venue and then back to the kennels. I knew this was alot of driving for them however they were more than happy to do it. They come to visit my dog and I at our home and within moments I could tell they were the loveliest ladies. My dog absolutely loved them the moment he met them too and lapped up all the fuss, lying on his back plus licking their faces (I'm so sorry!!). Ioana ran through lots of finer details about the plans for the day including timings and even asked what his favourite treats were as they would make sure they had plenty for him. I joked and said cheese as he loves cheese and they actually bought cheese for him on the wedding day 🥹. Such a lucky boy! There was a few bits of paperwork that I needed to complete but it was all very official and really reassuring that my boy was in great hands with the most lovely people. In the lead up to the wedding I was updated by Ioana that she had been in touch with the kennels about collection and drop off and also other suppliers I had booked so everyone knew what their plan was with our dog. As a dog chaperone service I would not expect this so this was lovely. The day of the wedding I was sent pictures and messages from the moment they collected him which was lovely to see as I was so emotional the morning of so seeing my dog made me smile. Looking at the pictures and videos he was looked after so so well (probably better than what we do!). The plan on the wedding day was that they would collect him around 11am and take him for a walk before arriving at the venue from 1pm. Our wedding day was a very hot day and they had gone out of their way to find a shaded walk for him to burn off some energy. He looks so happy being walked by them being given lots of water and strokes. As this was a surprise I didnt want him to be seen by any other guests so they had waited with him out of the way until all guests were sat at the ceremony keeping him cool and calm. While I was waiting to walk down the aisle he become a bit impatient and both Ioana and Angela were there to keep him distracted. They then kept him during the ceremony while we did our official paperwork etc and were then with him as we walked out of the ceremony to greet us. He stayed for a few photos and then they took him back to the kennels. I am so very grateful for them both. Also, just to add that not only did they do such an amazing job caring for our boy.. they did all this in 30 degree heat! I could tell how hot they were but they didnt once complain. I am so thankful to you both. Just a side note to add too.. the kennels I dropped my dog and Mums dog off to I was worried wasnt very nice. When they went to collect him they had a look around and told me that it was actually quite a nice kennels. On returning him they also took a video of our dog with my mums dog playing in their pen together. Again, a lovely thing to do. Thank you Ioana and Angela for looking after our dog so well and for all the lovely pictures and videos you sent us showing how cared and looked after he was. We honestly couldn’t recommend Angela and Ioana enough! They were absolutely amazing from start to finish and played such a special part in our wedding day by making sure Daisy (our lovely puppy) was part of our ceremony. Before the wedding, Angela and Ioana took the time to meet Daisy, who was initially quite nervous. They were so calm, patient and understanding, never rushing her and allowing her the time and space she needed to relax. In no time at all, she came out of her shell and was back to her usual silly, happy self. From that first meeting, we knew she was in the best possible hands. Before the day, we went through an exact plan of how Daisy’s day would look, and this was then followed up in writing and the official forms were signed. On the wedding day itself, Ioana was Daisy’s chaperone and was absolutely fantastic. She kept us updated throughout the day with regular messages and photos, which gave us peace of mind. The day was predicting a little bit of rain and to keep Daisy looking fresh, Ioana purposefully chose to do a beach walk instead of going the easy way to the fields (any bride with a dog knows the fear of brown paw prints on a white dress!). Not only did Ioana communicate with us throughout the day, she also kept the venue and photographer up to date so we could completely relax and enjoy our wedding knowing she was in safe hands. The ceremony itself was seamless! Daisy was where she needed to be, when she needed to be there and was SO chilled out walking down the aisle (a surprise to even us as Daisy is a high energy girl!) . Having Daisy there meant the world to us, and Ioana handled everything so perfectly that we didn’t have to worry about a thing. They went above and beyond to make sure Daisy was happy and that we could have her with us on one of the most important days of our lives. We’re so grateful for all the care, patience and love they gave her. If you’re considering having your dog involved in your wedding, we genuinely couldn’t recommend them enough. They made something that could have been stressful completely effortless — and gave us the most precious memories with Daisy that we’ll treasure forever. ❤️🐾
