Ryan Blackwood Edinburgh Camera Operator

Worked with Ryan on a recent shoot in the highlands. His preparation, professionalism and attitude in what were tough conditions were exceptional. Footage was extremely high quality and we look forward to working with him again in the future.

Great working with Ryan on a shoot recently in Glasgow. He brought tons of creativity and ideas to the lighting along with professionalism throughout to help us achieve the desired look and feel for our film. Brought an extensive collection of equipment and ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day. Much appreciated, Ryan!

A high-level client asked me to organise a shoot in Edinburgh with just a few days notice - I needed kit and an operator and found Ryan's website. It was a solid decision to ask him to help - he was extremely efficient, talented and thinking ahead the whole time around what kit we may need. He also read into the narrative of the story too and got to grips with that really quickly providing the necessary B-roll under tight time pressures on the day to tell the client's story. Would absolutely recommend for any filming requirement. Really enjoyed working with Ryan who made my job so much easier on the day.

Ryan was an amazing DOP for our recent history documentary filming project for History Hit in Edinburgh (filmed July 2024). Everything he filmed is excellent quality, he had a brilliant attitude and was a great team player, and his local knowledge of Edinburgh came in handy for our fast moving shoot in the busy city. Would 100% work with again. Thank you Ryan!

Ryan is a really skilled cinematographer. He's knowledgable on all kit, professional with clients and most importantly he has a good eye for seeing alternative angles and capturing some unique shots! Highly recommend.
