The Steamworks

A friend put me onto the Steam Works as a possible for my birthday party and I'm sooo glad! It was the perfect venue! Must have been about 200 of us in the end, the great thing is they can adapt the space to whatever size party you want. We used less than half the available space, they were really good at working out how to suit our needs - it really was just perfect! So we had all the bar area (of course!) with plenty of seating for anyone eating, drinking and sitting around chatting, and we used about half of the main room as a separate dancefloor and stage for a couple of acts. All the staff were great to work with. Chris the tech guy was brilliant - he put four big screens up for us (3 round the dancefloor and one in the bar) so we had hundreds of photos and videos of our friends bouncing around the place while we partied in the middle of it. The sound system and lights were included in the hire too! Worth noting that it's quite near Bramall Lane if there's a match on. There was but it ended just before my party started so no problems, as they all left it freed up loads of on street parking right outside. I would thoroughly recommend Steam Works as a great venue for a special birthday!

Been for the first time tonight with our daughters and loved it. Atmosphere is lively and cool and there are plenty of vendors there. We tried everything bar 1 vendor and that was just because we are stuffed!! The staff are great as well - friendly and chatty!! How we like them. We will definitely come again and bring friends!!

I went to a peddlers market here recently. It was good fun, could do with a bit more food options for the event. There was only 2 food trucks and they were quite expensive for street food. Definitely has the Khelam Island industrial vibe, it was nice to sit down and have a drink in the cozy style factory decor. I'll go again the next time they have a peddlers market on!

We were delighted to have my birthday party at The Steamworks this weekend. I've been to several events at The Steamworks including Snip Club and markets, and love the general vibe and that they're breathing life into the building so much so that it was the only place on my wish list. We hired the bar area and everyone commented on what a wonderful space it was. I can also confirm that the new heating is fabulous! Knowing the venue and it's history I had warned guests to bring a jumper, but they weren't needed at all. Stevie was really helpful at all times - with regular check ins and prompt replies to any questions I had. The staff we met on the day were really friendly and helpful. It really contributed the relaxed party vibe that I had hoped for. I wholeheartedly recommend The Steamworks for events and will be following their progress with interest.

Finally manged to make a Wednesday comedy night at the Steamworks. I was gutted when Leadmill closed but so glad it has found a new home at Steamworks. Easily 200 people there but it didn't feel overcrowded and queues for bar and toilets didn't reflect the number of people there. I know a comedian made a joke about the cold, but I was sat under a HUGE heater so wasn't cold at all. I'm pleased to see them making changes to what was a shell of a building. Great venue. Will be back soon!
