We had a wonderful lunch here last Saturday, with generous portions, local cask ales, and exceptionally good service. I accidentally ordered the non-veggie burger despite being vegetarian—my mistake entirely! I didn’t want to make a fuss, but when I mentioned it to the staff, they kindly replaced it with the veggie version at no extra charge. Truly top-class service. The indoor setting is cosy and welcoming. Sarah and her team put on a lovely celebration of life following my mums funeral. In what has been a hard time for our family, the team were so kind and welcoming throughout the planning and on the day. The buffet food was amazing and we had little touches such as photos on display and 80s music playing to make it more personal. Being able to use the outdoor terrace was also great in the hot weather. Thank you so much to all the team, it really was a lovely way to remember mum for a few hours.

Just had a fantastic Sunday roast…excellent, quality food as is the service…and all homemade! Will be returning again for sure. Well done to all staff who have got this pub up and running and giving it a new lease of life.

Visited this afternoon for a family get together. All had roasts which were really nice. Three children ate kids meals which were plentiful. The puddings were lovely as they were slightly different to other places. The pub has a lovely feel to it and everyone was really welcoming. The log fire was really cosy. Given such a high star rating as I will definitely be going back.

Now under new ownership, wow what a change, the new decor is lovely, and the work they have done outside especially on the top terrace is great for a summer drink. Have visited several times for a drink after walking the dog in the woods and always receive a warm and friendly welcome especially from Sarah,Dave and Trig. Have also been with my partner for the Thursday steak night, £49 for 2 ribeye steaks with all the trimmings,cooked to perfection and a very decent bottle of red is a must try, highly recommended 😋 I live nearby and it's so good to have a proper 'local' back.
