Very good pub grub... Obviously its a large pub/ restaurant so I had pie and mash. Food was nice and portion size just right. 2 seating options bar or restaurant.. but both are very similar. I would come back again.

I was looking forward to eating here but was slightly dissapointed, I had the chicken kebab and I was expecting a bit more presentation as in a nice cube of chicken followed by a pepper / onion and repeat but it was just skewered chicken, it was tasty though, I had the feta side salad which was okay and I paid £4.95 for chips and I got about 12 of them,like seriously? The barman was very nice and friendly, the food was very average

Visiting on the 29/7/2026 first time loved the place , stayed overnight, check out 12pm food was really good , our server was called Issack he was amazing, that was the reason for asking his name , give the place a try you won’t be disappointed

The Hedgehog is a lovely pub, restaurant and hotel. It is located just over a mile outside of Lichfield City Centre, so does not tend to attract the crowds, and is usually a friendly comfortable relaxing atmosphere. Great menu for meals catering for all needs. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is not a huge variety of beers, but most tastes are catered for, and there are usually a couple of decent real ales available. I would say it is more of a food pub, but it does have a nice dog friendly area with a proper open fire if you just want to have a few drinks. Spacious outdoor area which is great in the Summer months whether it's just for drinks or meals. I highly recommend The Hedgehog if you prefer a quieter out of town type of place. It is open all day from 9.00am - 11.00pm Mon - Sat, and 09.00am - 10.30pm Sundays. Takeaway also available up from 12.00pm - 10.00 pm.

Came for lunch here on Saturday,, always had a good meal here, but Saturday was a disappointment, my husbands fish was small and looked liked a frozen piece, my chicken parmigiana was over cooked, the waitress who took our order was lovely, service was as always excellent,

We had a one night stopover here as we travelled south. The evening meal was very good. Staff very friendly and there was a good atmosphere. Our room (Room 1) was very spacious with a comfortable bed and, being a corner room, had windows on two sides. This was very welcome in the heatwave as there was no air conditioning (fair enough, it's an old building) so we needed the windows open. The problem was that the road outside is VERY busy and VERY noisy all night. However, what let down our experience was the breakfast. We were looking forward to a continental style buffet breakfast - I'm sure that was an option when we booked - but we had to choose individual items from a menu. The pancakes, bacon and maple syrup I ending up choosing ("What cereal do you have? I don't know, I'll have to go and check") was absolutely swimming in syrup. The avocado on toast my wife chose was very sad looking. So, this is a great pub/restaurant if you are local, but if you want a convenient stopover, quiet, with a decent breakfast you might want to look elsewhere.

This is our local pub and unfortunately we will NOT be coming back or ordering from here. The food is outrageously overpriced and the portions are tiny, I had the skewer starter for almost £10 and it came with 2 tiny pieces of chicken and a few pieces of pepper, the whole thing was smaller than my finger... After our last visit we said we wouldn't come back, but we decided to give it another chance and ordered pizzas for delivery. The pizzas are super small and the base was RAW and cold when they arrived, barely any sauce toppings on them so way far from the pictures they show. We had to add toppings, tomato sauce and cook them in the oven to make them edible, might as well saved the £37!!!!! we spent in 2 awful pizzas and made them ourselves. Very disappointed, won't be back or order again, many other good options in Lichfield to waste time here.
