Melville

Menu online was nit the menu presented on my first visit to this pub today. I was very disappointed not to see at least one pie offered on the menu. This has to be a crime for pub grub not to have a pie with shortcrust pastry on menu. I settled for a jerk chicken caesar salad. I'm afraid it was lacking in taste but abundant in lettuce. However very little else, 5 small 1cm cubes of jerk chicken so small I couldn't taste anything to comment on the taste. There weren't any croutons and I managed to find 2 small anchovies hiding under the sea of lettuce. There wasn't any cheese, bacon or eggs on offer and the dressing had no taste. This was not value for the £13 I paid neither in taste or quantity. Now the good bits pub was well presented staff were pleasant, decor and atmosphere lovely, pleasant odour and lovely garden area with seating outside. I would return but would only eat if the menu and portion sizes changed. There's nothing worse than feeling hungry after having a main meal in a pub. Should never happen as this doesn't encourage you to stay and have a drink.

Ended up here by accident...Milly on the door absolutely little star...and bouncer lovely...locals made us feel welcome..cant believe took 82 year mother to an R&B nite by accident ...fabulous pub and great bar staff ..thank you xxx

As soon as you open the doors there’s a warm welcoming..seems like from everyone! The bar staff were super friendly and the same with the chef who popped out to say hi. I took my mum out for food and a few drinks. We had fish and chips..followed with sticky toffee pudding..The food portions were spot on and very tasty..Got what I asked for. I will definitely be returning.

This pub was fantastic, its great team and Steph the new manager were all welcoming. The pub looks great and has lots of booths and areas if you want to have a more private time or indeed if you want to send the lads to watch the footie there’s a room for that too! Lol The food was perfect, I only had a burger but it was cooked perfectly and I almost didn’t finish it all! And the prices were so reasonable! Defo worth a visit especially if there is a dj or karaoke on this pub caters for everyone. Well done to the whole team

If I'm honest, I wasn't digging the vide. Staff seemed nice and there seems to be a real local feel to it I.e. most of the people knew each other. I'm not sure if it is a thing here in the UK but no lounge staff. You are left to fend for yourself. If u want food then ask, if u want a menu then go get one from one of the tables. I know that sound bad but I don't mean it like that. It depends on your expectations. I did not end up getting food cause I was just not feeling it. Nice looking place and lots of TV screens. I plan to go back and get it a proper chance. Overall I think there is potential but need to give it a second chance.
