Rocky Mountain Cottage

Rocky Mountain was the only Wedding Venue we viewed because as soon as we stepped foot in the place, we knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding. The views, the team and what’s included with the venue are nothing short of fantastic. Grainne couldn’t help enough on the run up to the wedding and our guests have complimented how well the team looked after them on the day. We had a lot of personalised details which we dropped off before the wedding, these were all placed with care and attention to detail by the team at RMC. Our photographer has shot over 800 Weddings and said he has never seen a venue as good. I had concerns during planning over accommodation not being on site and our higher number of guests (130) not having adequate space, toilets etc. - none of these things were an issue at all. Our guests have commented on our wedding being one of the best they’ve been to and how beautiful Rocky Mountain is - "a hidden gem" We were even served a full cooked breakfast the following morning with a stunning view to match. Thank you for such a wonderful day (havnt quite got over how amazing it was ) . We have been to many weddings and this was by far the best . Everything was absolutely perfect from the venue itself all the special touches , the food and ofcourse the staff who was spectacular. Yous honestly deserve the recognition for all the hard work you put into everyone’s special day . It was out of this world 🌍. My brother Matthew and his wife Rebekah definitely hit the jackpot by choosing this venue . ❤️🫶🏻

The venue was amazing and Gráinne, Maurice, Bernie and Larry put it into a league of its own with their lovely manner, professionalism and attention to detail. They made our wedding day and all the planning such a breeze. Thank you all 👏🏼

Was at a wedding here last night and it is absolutely amazing! Not even was it a gorgeous place. The staff and owners are the most lovely and welcoming people. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. The owners checked in on people constantly and were really jolly and polite. The owners even offered to help us home! It was just absolutely amazing and definitely the best wedding I have ever been to! Would highly recommend

This is an exceptional wedding venue. As a wedding photographer I was really impressed with Rocky Mountain Cottage. This beautiful spot, in the heart of the Mournes is beautiful. Beautiful gardens, a whitewashed cottage, the stone barn and amazing marquee…there are endless photo opportunities! This family run venue oozes style. Rocky Mountain Cottage - Wedding of our dreams! ❤️ We have always loved cottages, so when we came across Rocky Mountain Cottage on social media, we couldn't believe such a place existed - hidden right up in the mountains. We decided to go and visit in December 2023 for Santas Grotto which is held there, which was our first Christmas together as a couple. From the moment we arrived, it felt like such an amazing, special place to be. As soon as we stepped foot inside, it felt so homely and welcoming - exactly the kind of place you would want to spend your most special day of your life. We didn't know at first that weddings were held here - it was Maurice (Grainnes husband) who told us this during our visit - and from that exact moment, we both knew this was where we wanted to get married when the time come. We never looked at any other venues; we just kept this place in our hearts and minds. When the time came, we got in touch with Grainne, who helped us secure our date for Tuesday 23rd June 2026. From the day we booked right through until the wedding itself, she guided us at eveey stage and always kept us right - we honestly couldn't have made the day happen without her help. Our theme was country and western, and it fit Rocky Mountain Cottage perfectly! We had alot of personal touches, one which was cowboy hats for us - the Bride and Groom. We were able to bring along our own vintage tractor (Massey 35) to sit at the front of the cottage, plus a Scania 143, which brought the Bride Rebekah to Rocky Mountain Cottage. We also had donkeys from 'Kindale Donkeys' Ballynahinch. As an extra surprise, Bride surprised her Husband Matthew with an old-styled ice cream van (Pauls Ices - from Magherafelt) for all our guests - it worked out perfectly as the temperature reached 27 degrees that day noted as the warmest day in June. Everything came together beautifully, and the whole vibe suited the setting just perfectly. The views are breathtaking, and staying in the cottage that night was such a wonderful memorable way for us to begin our marriage. That morning after the wedding Grainne had a full fry sitting on the kitchen table for us in the cottage which was absolutely amazing and 5 star!! We collected our wedding cake together from Dorset 3 days before the wedding which everyone thought we had gone mad when we said 'haha'. It was a very special type of cake which was a hand painted cake featuring pictures relating to our backgrounds, our personalities and what we both love and have in common which is pretty much all the same and of course Rocky Mountain cottage and the donkeys was painted on the cake as well.❤️ We dropped the cake off at Rocky Mountain the day before the wedding - which was quite stressful at the time as we knew we still had to build the cake. Although Caroline and her husband David owners of 'Number 7 Duke Street' stepped in to help us in such a big way and assembled the cake for us, taking all the pressure away completely. The food on the day provided by 'Number 7 Duke Street' was absolutely perfect. We couldn't have asked for any better and every guest commented on how delicious it was - there is still some ones mentioning it still now. The service was excellent (5*) everyone was served at around the same time with hardly any waiting. All the staff were so attentive, constantly checking that everyone was happy and comfortable, We just wanted to say a huge thank you again to Grainne, Maurice, and Grainnes Mum and Dad, Larry and Bernie. Even though ours was a small wedding, they made every effort to speak to all our guests making us feel so welcome and as though we were part of one big family. Thank you everyone at Rocky Mountain Cottage for turning our dream into reality. We booked Rocky Mountain Cottage as our wedding venue way back in January 2023 for our June 2025 wedding. From the very first message to Grainne, right through and beyond our incredible wedding day, we felt completely heard, valued and understood. Grainne sold us on her dream of creating the most breathtaking venue nestled in the heart of the Mournes, and we fell hard in love with all that this beautiful location has to offer. And what a phenomenal job she's done with the place - from the marquee and beautiful mountain backdrop we first visited, to the stunning "View" reception area that stands proudly on the hill - RMC only continues to grow and stun! No ask was too big or too small for Grainne and her wonderful team at RMC - she listened to our dream and made everything we asked for a reality, doing everything in her power to make our day truly unique and memorable. She is an absolute wonder woman, full of passion for RMC and overflowing with kindness and care for all of her couples! Right down to the small details, we could tell how much heart and soul Grainne and her family put into every corner of the venue. Shout out to Maurice, Larry & Bernie who were kind beyond measure to everyone at the wedding. We were completely inundated with praise for them all throughout the day! Special mention to Paddy and Dinky too, what a pair of legends! The fantastic squad at Number 7 also went above and beyond for us, taking time to curate a bespoke Tex-Mex BBQ menu for our dinner, which got glowing reviews from every single one of our guests on the day! They couldn't do enough for us at our menu tasting either, and in the build up to the wedding made every effort to make sure our menu and cocktail list was exactly what we wanted for the day. We also had many dietary requirements that were handled with such care and diligence. The staff were also great craic, everyone was getting stuck into the vibe of our day and it really made for the perfect atmosphere the whole time! If you're planning on getting married, do yourself the biggest favour and book RMC for your big day - you won't regret it! 💕🎉
