The Houseboat

What an amazing place! The house is stylish, beautifully presented and in an peaceful location with fantastic views. We enjoyed a walks around the nature reserve, on the beach, and early morning swims in the sea just down the path. The living and sleeping spaces had everything we needed - we particularly loved the seating arrangements in the lounge, which was great for 7 friends catching up, and the large sliding doors out onto the patio were lovely to have open during the day. If you didn’t want to go out and about into Poole, this house is spacious enough to stay home all day and relax with loads of board games and places to sit - inside and outside. We made use of Megan’s dining recommendation and had Christian from Salt Co in to cook for us one evening which was great fun. We absolutely loved our stay at The Houseboat and would love to come back again. Thank you Megan for a wonderful welcoming hamper and for being a brilliant host.

My husband and I, plus 2 of our adult children and their partners just spent 3 nights at this amazing place. Absolutely beautiful house. Everything about it was perfect from the location (views, walks, proximity to Poole) to the beautiful bedrooms, comfy beds, big bath towels, well equipped kitchen, lots of chairs, sofas and tables, games and books etc! Pure luxury. A lovely welcome hamper on arrival including fresh flowers. Could not fault it. Kathryn was also very helpful in answering questions I had before we went.

This place is the essence of architecture and interior design. In early July 2020 we spent a week in this wonderful place and we absolutely loved it. Our three children loved the open plan, the proximity to the harbour and the amazing views from pretty much any space of the house. The house was spotless, incredibly well equipped with a fantastic double oven and a large fridge. The bedrooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The linen was like a 5* hotel style. The generous welcome pack was much appreciated. Megan has been wonderful throughout our stay. She is very professional, genuinely caring and ready to make your stay unforgettable. She is always at your disposal. We also had the pleasure to meet Roger, the visionary architect behind this impressive project. He is a wonderful person that with a soft spoken voice explained with passion details of his creation. We will definitely make the Houseboat our regular gateway. Yasmina&Fabio

We spent two weeks at the houseboat and honestly we could not have found a more perfect home to rent for our return to the UK after three years away. The accommodation is just breathtaking, it’s easily accommodated our family and all the visitors we had come stay. Megan was a wonderful host, she balanced being attentive to our needs are giving us the space to enjoy a holiday and family reunion. We enjoyed it so much we immediately booked to return next year

We have recently enjoyed the most wonderful stay at the exquisite, architecturally designed houseboat. The property is incredibly spacious with light flooding in through the the windows on every level. We felt immediately at peace and at home at what is probably the best holiday accommodation we have had the pleasure of staying at in Britain. The location of the houseboat with its immediate views of the sea and the common is spectacular . The houseboat is also within easy reach of Sandbanks and the beautiful Lulworth Cove. Hamworthy park, which is within walking distance is also very much worth a visit, with its direct access to the sea and it pastel coloured beach huts. We would also like to thank Megan for her great communication throughout. We all enjoyed our visit so much, and would love to return in the not so distant future.

Amazing Building in superb location overlooking Poole harbour and sunsets - wonderful shared living spaces which enhanced the celebratory atmosphere of three generations together. Comfortable sleeping rooms with plenty of washing/toilet facilities. Great outside terraces for good weather, which we were blessed with, and easy access for visit to Brownsea Island - a must, even on a relatively short stay (4 days, and could easily have stayed for weeks).

We had a great time staying at the Houseboat. It is a house in a million with bags of character and style to die for. Plenty of room to chill and spread out and sitting on the deck enjoying the sunset was a particular joy. Would recommend Christian the chef for an extra special occasion, and Ghost Walks of Poole is fascinating and atmospheric. But mainly the ideal place for putting your feet up and enjoying the luxury.
