Wortley Hall

We did not stay here, but came for afternoon tea which was great. Served on time in the boardroom. Well presented, tasty and plenty of it. All staff were friendly and efficient. There was also a wedding taking place in other rooms within the house. House was beautiful and tastefully decorated and the extensive gardens and grounds were well worth a tour.

We visited Wartley Hall for a charity classic car show, their was my eldest son, wife and myself. Wartley Hall was not only a perfect setting for this venue but would be great for any! The Hall was open and I had a good snoop around, for a old building it was in good shape, some areas like on the landing ceiling was in need of a little repair, but it was lovely. The Staff all around the ground were nice and polite and made a point of asking if everyone was OK. We will visit again, just for a afternoon tea and to sit outside enjoying the surroundings.

There is shabby chic then there is Wortley Hall beautiful surrounds magnificent scenery lovely caring staff but this hotel is so in need of a refurb it's such a shame I had booked two singles but had a standered double room with a 3/4 bed any one around the 5ftark would never have made it on the bed it was so high at ,5/8 and 6/3 we managed being late 70,s it was hard S altogether a great dissapointment
