Vale Resort

A fabulous place for a quiet break away with Spa experiences & Two golf courses. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful - reception, bar, restaurant, room staff etc. It is clear that the hotel has an ethos of ensuring you have a very pleasant stay. All the food, breakfast, lunch, dinner in the bar and the restaurant was fabulous. Air conditioned rooms made it very comfortable, in the hot weather, and everywhere is kept in pristine condition with ongoing maintenance programme and constant cleaning. The room was spacious with very comfortable beds, and clean, white, pressed bedding, tea/coffee facilities plus a bottle of water each, per day. Everything is well planned, and thought through. Not always common, these days. Thank you to all the staff for a great stay, and a very welcome recharge. We will be back and have a session in the beautiful and well planned Spa. Their half day, and whole day packages look great.

We came to the Vale for a second time for a couple getaway and overall had a positive experience! The facilities were available prior to check in which allowed us to enjoy an afternoon in the pool, jacuzzi, sauna/steam and even sunbathed outside thanks to the beautiful weather. Everywhere is well maintained and staff are always on hand to help. The only thing I would say is that it does get quite busy which makes it harder to enjoy/relax. We spent the evening in the Vale Bar. Unfortunately the grill was fully booked so I recommend booking prior to your stay to avoid disappointment. However, we enjoyed the food in the bar more than the grill. I would still say it is overpriced though for the standard of food. Everywhere was very busy (bank hol weekend) but staff were trying their best to keep up with demand. We did end up waiting over an hour for food but the lovely lady who served us, Haley, didn’t hesitate to get us a free drink to compensate which was really appreciated. If it wasn’t for the bar staff being lovely, I think this could have ruined our experience. The rooms here are nice and big, even in the standard doubles. We were happy with the hygiene standards but were disappointed not to have a fridge in the room but that is minor. Overall the room was perfect for a night away as a couple.

Overall the hotel is lovely, it is just overpriced in my opinion and the finishing touches not quite there. Room We had a executive room advertised with balcony but is on bottom floor, no issue with that though. Good size but obviously you pay extra for it. Cleanliness was the only downside really. There was a rug on the floor which was nice but absolutely filthy, not sure if it is ever cleaned, not helped by the fact it is cream in colour, had it been darker you'd probably not notice. There were also a couple of dust balls on the floor and the bedside tables needed a quick wipe. The bathroom was very clean though. Breakfast was really nice, good selection and very tasty. Food in the bar was overpriced for the quality and what it was. Spa This is where we were let down which was mostly our own fault but just made it seem overpriced again. Had a massage, it was fine but certainly not great, the room was cold and there was no consultation on how you like your massage. It is also £95 for 50 minutes. As someone who has lots of massages this is the much higher end and the quality did not match. I was then told I had to pay extra for the relaxation rooms, this is stated on their website but I had missed it. It is a shame. As mentioned I am a frequent spa user and have massages regularly, in no other hotel have I had to pay extra, you are usually encouraged to use the relaxation rooms after your treatment not just ushered out like here. Again it did state it so my fault but the price of the treatment in no way reflected the quality of the service or experience. I was so disappointed I immediately booked another massage for in a few weeks somewhere else where I know the overall experience is better, and cheaper.
